3. Introduction
Born on : 13 Feburary, 1911 in Kala Qader,
District Narowal, (Punjab)
His family was well known in literary
circles.
He got imprisonment of Four years in
1951.
The term gave him experience and
leisure to think.
Two of his books, Dast-e-Saba and
Zindan Nama, are the products
of imprisonment.
4. Struggle
In 1935 Faiz was part
of Muhammedan Anglo-Oriental
College faculty.
In 1936, Faiz joined a literary
movement, (PWM).
In 1938, he became editor-in-chief
of the monthly Urdu magazine
"Adab-e-Latif ”
5. During the World War II(1942), he
enrolled in the British Indian
Army, but resigned in 1947.

Faiz joined the Pakistan Arts
Council (PAC) in 1947 &
In 1964 became the V.P of Pakistan
Arts Council.

His contribution, no doubt for art
in Pakistan, remains unparalleled
till this day.
His legacy today remains alive in
each and every corner of Pakistan.
Faiz breathed his last on 20th
November 1984 in Lahore.
