CONCLUSION:-
Case study:Dehradun(Uttarakhand):-
The uttarakhand state is progressing towards raising the bar of quality of education with
the diksha-“dedication to enhance education through knowledge, skill and habit
assessment” program of the education department launched on at the state secretariat
by uttarakhand’s chief secretary, shatrughna singh.
Singh addressed the education officials present at the launch and the district magistrates
and chief education officers of the 13 districts across Uttarakhand by the means of video-
conferencing and stated the need to improve and enhance the quality of education in the
government schools of the state and directed them to take personal interest to ensure
DIKSHA’s successful implementation. Besides this, the chief secretary gave out
directions to ensure that AADHAR cards of all the students are made as soon as possible
such that the requisite information about them can be seeded with their bank accounts
and also directed repair work on priority basis for the schools with dilapidated buildings.
The secretary school education D senthil pandiyan said "The primary aim of the diksha
project is to make sure that regular assessment of the students’ performance is done and
the remedial measures to improve their knowledge base and the performance are taken.
the program will be taken up like a campaign in all schools across our state and education
officials would take active participation in ensuring that it is monitored well with timely
inspections.we sincerely hope and believe this would help in raising the level of quality of
education in state owned schools and more children would take interest in joining the
government run schools."
The program consist of continuous comprehensive evaluation (CCE) and learning level
assessment (LLA),while CCE would used to gauge the learning levels in the primary
classes, the LLA would be implemented for the students of senior classes.
To ensure the successful implementation of the diksha initiative, a booklet developed by
the state council of educational research & training (SCERT) and the sarv shiskha
abhiyan (SSA) containing the guidelines for the implementation of the program was also
released on the occasion.
The state’s education department officials are certain that the campaign will ensure
school kids are regularly assessed and remedial measures are taken thereby overhauling
the education scenario and raising the bar of education in government run schools.
