The story so far…
• Program Darwin
• Needed to replace the existing product catalogue with an
ISO19115-1 Standards compliant product
• Our first attempt
• Large scope
• Bespoke solution
• The simple approach
• Smaller scope
• GeoNetwork solution (open source)
• Ability to continually enhance

So how did we go about it?
• Open source
• Based on ISO 19115 standard
• Configurable (by us)
• User friendly
• Simple search interface
• No special login (single sign on)
• User acceptance testing

• Creates the catalogue number on entry
• Saves with tab change
• Only the elements required for standards compliance
• You can create templates for repetitive entries

And after entering your metadata, you can validate…

• Some “geek speak”, plans to convert
to more user friendly descriptions
• Three green boxes are good

But how do we force people to use this?
• Governance
• Tools
• Ease of completion
• And look intimidating

What’s next?
• Release to the cloud (Amazon) in March (Just completed)!
• Improve the Help Documentation
• Enhance the look and feel of the interface
• User input to iron out any bugs
• Share with other Agencies (github)
• More automation
