  3. The lone researcher is expected to fulfill all these roles These demands are often decided upon in homogenous groups Those not fulfilling demands are often mocked and categorised as poor researchers
  4. RSEs are often involved in research projects that require complex software, data management, and data analysis. They work closely with researchers to develop software that is reproducible, reusable, and adaptable. RSEs also provide training and support to researchers enabling them to take advantage of the latest tools and techniques. They understand the needs of researchers and are able to translate those needs into software solutions. They also have a deep understanding of the research process and the importance of reproducibility and open science. Overall, the RSE community is diverse and includes individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise.
