 Business continuously make critical decision
about their product range.
 Product decision will include whether to
develop a new products or to manage existing
products.
 Product Mix helps in these types of
decisions.
Product Mix
 Set of all product offered for sale by a
company.
 It consist of various product line.
 Any company’s product mix has four
dimension :
◦ Width
◦ Length
◦ Depth
◦ Consistency

 Width : Number of different product lines
carries by the company.
 Length : Total number of items in the product
mix of the company.
 Depth : Total number of size, colour and models
offered in each item of a product line.
 Consistency : It refers to how a product line
closely related to one another, either in their end
use, production requirement, distribution
channel or other way.
About Reliance Industries Ltd.
 Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is an Indian conglomerate holding
company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
 The company was co-founded by Dhirubhai Ambani and his brother
Champaklal Damani in 1960s as Reliance Commercial Corporation.
 Reliance is the second most profitable (Net Profit Rs 27,630 crores in 2015-
16) company in India.
 The company is ranked 215th on the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's
biggest corporations as of 2016.
 RIL contributes approximately 20% of India's total exports.
 It is ranked 8th among the Top 250 Global Energy Companies by S&P

  • 3. Introduction  Business continuously make critical decision about their product range.  Product decision will include whether to develop a new products or to manage existing products.  Product Mix helps in these types of decisions.
  • 4. Product Mix  Set of all product offered for sale by a company.  It consist of various product line.  Any company’s product mix has four dimension : ◦ Width ◦ Length ◦ Depth ◦ Consistency
  • 5. Continue....  Width : Number of different product lines carries by the company.  Length : Total number of items in the product mix of the company.  Depth : Total number of size, colour and models offered in each item of a product line.  Consistency : It refers to how a product line closely related to one another, either in their end use, production requirement, distribution channel or other way.

About Reliance Industries Ltd.  Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is an Indian conglomerate holding company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.  The company was co-founded by Dhirubhai Ambani and his brother Champaklal Damani in 1960s as Reliance Commercial Corporation.  Reliance is the second most profitable (Net Profit Rs 27,630 crores in 2015- 16) company in India.  The company is ranked 215th on the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's biggest corporations as of 2016.  RIL contributes approximately 20% of India's total exports.  It is ranked 8th among the Top 250 Global Energy Companies by S&P Global Platts as of 2016.
