2. Summary of ideas
• The genre of my magazine will be rock and roll and this can includeQ, KERRANG and NME. My magazine
will come across as reasonably plain but the color will fade into maybe another color or a light white.
Continuing with the color scheme I will only have about three main colors like red or blue or green as this
means that the magazine will look more professional and also stand out more. Furthermore as for the
target audience, I will be focusing on people aged around 15-30 but most predominantly adults due to
the music style.The magazine will be for men and women but stereotypically men and the audience will
be typically interested in the modern world while keeping up to date with the latest music. By absorbing
the magazines content the reader will be able to know what is going on in the artists lives and what they
are going to do next such as touring or releasing a new album.The readers of my magazine will most
likely be explorers as they will want to know what is happening in the world to do with rock and roll

6. TV chosen magazine
I decided to pick theTV idea due to how much more professional it is compared
to the other two and because of how professional it is, it makes the whole
company look professional and it attract the attention of the audiences
intended. Furthermore, I believe that the font and the style is a lot more
interesting and memorable which is accentual to the sale of a good magazine
filled with intriguing and sharp content. Also I prefer the layout of theTV and
the fact that I will be including bonus information in order to keep the
consumers attention and keep them coming back by leaving cliff hangers at
certain parts.The consumers will also have taster information on what will be in
the next magazine so that the magazine stays in memory.The color scheme of
TheTV idea is very distinct making it easy for the consumer to see and
therefore absorb the information.The fact that the magazine is on monthly
circulation allows for me to include a lot of juicy content that can be will make
the consumer want to read more. Overall I prefer theTV idea as it has a lot
better ideas and that will most certainly keep the consumers attention and take
them away from any rival magazines.

7. Flat Bass chosen magazine
• I have decided to pick Flat Bass as one of my magazines as I believe it looks a lot
more casual compared to the other two and this helps to fit in with my audience a
lot better promoting them to buy the magazine.The layout of the Flat Bass
magazine looks more as if it includes content that is more formal but still casual
compared to the other two magazines. As for the information itself, the content
and font will stand out making it easier to read and absorb the information that is
listed on the pages. Furthermore, the information will be on interviews to do with
artists associated with the genre and overall gossip to do with the artists and
musicians. Parts of the content will have information that will be relevant in the
next magazine and the circulation will be monthly allowing for plenty of content
to be shown and at an affordable price.The layout of the content is very precise
and this is to help catch the readers eye in order to make them want to read on.

catch the readers attention. Due to the fact that the fonts are bold makes it
easy for the consumer to see and recognize which magazine it is.Also the
majority of these fonts link to the style of music that will be inside the
magazine.

• I have chosen to put a magazine cover of KanyeWest on my mood
board for NME as he is a highly known musician and this helps
depict how NME use his face in order to grab the attention of the
consumers. Also another magazine cover that I put on the Q
magazine mood board is one with Cold play and the reason for this
is because they are also a well known band that produces great
music that satisfies millions of people around the world.The fact
that the Q magazine producers decided to put the band on the
front cover could be hinting to what is inside the magazine and
when they will be touring.

Above you can see my hand drawn drafts and I have chosen
to have one person on the front cover due to the fact that I
feel then the attention from the consumer will be focused
on that one person. Similarly, on my DPS I feel I should also
have just one person otherwise the page looks too crowded
with content.
The front cover that I favour the most is the very first one
due to the fact that the layout of it is simple and look
professional to the consumer. Furthermore, my favourite
DPS is also the first one as I feel it has a great layout and
continuous the theme of looking professional and not too
crowded.

believe the layout is a lot more
spaced out and the space is used
more wisely allowing the reader to

being overwhelmed with to much

25. Conclusion
• After knowing the knowledge of my drawn layouts I believe
that I like the 3rd front cover the best as there is just enough
information to image ratio to make it look professional and
practical. Furthermore, I would rather have the same amount
of images to text as if I was to a open magazine I wouldn’t
want to be bombarded with text but instead have enough
information which describes and explains the images
surrounding it.
