Guidelines For Preparation of Summer Training Project Report (KMB 308)
Session : 2021-22
The student of MBA First year (session 2021 – 22) will undergo their summer training during
the assigned days i.e. from 6 August to 18 September, 2022 under the supervision of a
industry supervisor and core faculty member/mentor of the department.
After the completion of training they are required to prepare and submit a Project Report to
the college/institute on a problem/topic (from one of the specialization areas opted by them).
Details of Preparation/ Presentation/Evaluation are as follows:
The Summer Training Project Report will carry 150 marks. The evaluation will
consist of (1) Project Report evaluation (2) Project Presentation and Viva. The Project
Report evaluation will comprise of 50 marks. The Presentation and Viva Voce would
comprise of 100 marks.
The average size of the report will be of 100 to 150 typed pages in Times New
Roman, Font size 12 and in double spacing.
2 neatly typed and soft bound (paper back) copies of the report should be submitted
by the students to their class coordinator concerned after 10 days of their report
presentation duly endorsed by the mentor incorporating the corrections suggested
during the presentation. Days and Time detail of STPR presentation and submission
will be informed later on through notice.
Students should also make preparatory presentation in the presence of a set of at least
three faculty members out of Mentor, Class Coordinator, STPR Coordinator, HoD
and/or Representative of the Principal along with the students of the class.
The presentation of the report will be for 8 minutes duration in ppt format. Content
coverage will be in conformity with the project report. The presentation will also have
2 minutes question-answer & suggession - recommendation session.
Training report should contain information in the following order :-
– Cover and title page (Must be colored).
– Certificate by the MBA department, UIM.
– Certificate Issued by the Industry.
– Acknowledgement.

– Declaration.
– Index (containing chapters, tables, figures exclusively along with page(s) no).
Objectives of the study.
Review of literatures.
Description of the organization:
– Vision, mission, goals, & objectives of the Company. Its position/stages in
the life cycle. Overview of the different departments, with its functions within
& outside of the company.
– Policies, Strategies & Performance (Market share Analysis, Profitability
analysis or competitors analysis etc.)
– Products/services offered by the Company.
Research Methodology :
– Scope of the study.
– Research Design (it may be exploratory or descriptive Research).
– Sample Design.
– Sources of data collection.
– Tools and techniques for analysis of data.
– Limitations of the study.
Data analysis & interpretation.
Findings.
Conclusions.
Recommendations.
Bibliography .
Annexure
