marine security and risk management services to governmental and non-governmental institutions across the EMEA
regions, Africa and South America. Annual turnover was in excess of €24m in 2012 (70% of Group’s income). Company
grew from €15m to €27m during the four financial years’ Audits I was responsible and accountable for. Duties include:
• Effectively reported to French Group CFO & supported French Board of Directors in decision making for UK entity.
• Efficiently worked in close collaboration with French Chief Accountant and French HQ Finance team remotely.
• Successfully managed the UK finance team in the preparation, communication and finalisation of audit files under
French GAAP for French Group Auditors, and under UK GAAP for UK company Auditors (6 direct reports)
• First point of contact for key stakeholders; HMRC, Banks, suppliers, auditors, companies house, lawyers, landlords,
insurers, Country managers & directors, non-finance professionals and international Country Directors.
• Assigned to review, investigate and successfully implemented improved internal controls for Accounting, HR, IT,
Payroll and Office Management departments for the UK subsidiary. Thus, involved in change management.
• Arduously and singlehandedly negotiated fund raising facilities for UK and two French subsidiaries with major

- My linguistics skills, i.e. spoken and written English and French have helped me progress rapidly within this French
Group of companies. Quickly gained the trust of the Board of Directors, due to professional composure, I was assigned
many responsibilities occupied those normally performed by a UK Director; from managing the UK Office to being the
UK authorised signatory on all bank transactions. My investigations into the company’s payroll taxes led the incoming
investors/shareholders to restructure senior managements’ remunerations and bonus structures for the UK subsidiary.
- Initially joined Geos International to internalise Accounting, VAT, Corporation Tax, P11D Returns and Expatriate
Payroll, due to excessive fees being charged by then external Chartered Accountants & Auditors. I not only managed to
internalise these processes and introduce procedures, but also negotiated and agreed lower fees and improved
payment terms with several suppliers and service providers, including appointing UHY Hacker Young as Auditors.
- Part of the cost saving measures: identified new VAT exempt office premises to relocate UK business at the heart of
the City of London by saving one third.
- Successfully swayed HMRC Compliance Unit on two occasions to issue Certificates of Compliance in July 2010 and Oct
2012 for Geos UK, needed in renewing our agreement with the European Union Electoral Commission.

client (French based) with an annual £10 million turnover, with outlets in Europe and international presence.

concession stores, including bookkeeping, EU Intrastat & EC Sales, VAT returns using QuickBooks software.

- Reviewed procedure for producing monthly consolidated management accounts and introduced improved
streamlined controls and methods thus saving over 4 full days per month excluding a few hours on the deadline day.

problem, developed a very good rapport avoiding losing two unhappy clients (head-quartered in France and Spain).

subsequently written off by management, however after my implementation of cost and time effective systems we
