• The Arts Council has been tracking 17 arts groups for the
last five years. Their aggregate budgets increased by
11.7% in 2007, 5% in 2008, dropped 3.3% in 2009, then
increased 0.7% in 2010, for a total increase of 14.2%
from 2006 through 2010. During the same five year
period, the KC regional economy grew by an estimated
4.2% while the overall US economy grew by 0.2%.
