NEW CHICAGO OFFICE
A picture is worth a thousand words!
On February 15, 2010, less than one month after opening Emeryville, nascent
BRG opened its second office in Chicago. It was a very humble but special
place, basic in every way, and those who worked there will never forget it.
Today, only 6 years later, BRG's
Chicago presence is strong and our
new office is a physical manifestation
of our growing marketplace notoriety.
The new office is only a block away
from our current location, but the
resemblance stops there.

also doubled as a printer room. Believe me, it looked worse than the picture in real life!

Nested on the entire 50th floor of one of
Chicago's iconic high rises - 70 W Madison, it
has majestic views of Lake Michigan,
downtown Chicago, and its surroundings for
as far as the eye can see. We worked hard
with our real estate business partners to
negotiate favorable terms for BRG. The
leadership of the Chicago office and the
Executive Team have been wonderfully
supportive throughout. We would not be here
today if it wasn't for their engagement.
At a more granular level, beautiful and functional spaces like this one require
thousands of hours of planning and design. The Chicago office Architectural
Committee worked very hard with our architects (Unispace) to plan the space
down to the tee. No details have been left to chance and I am very grateful for
the Committee's spirit and involvement. I am also very impressed with the
relentless work of James Reid who skillfully piloted this project to the finish line
while capably supported by Vidal Villarreal and Arthea Johnson who
respectively coordinated all IT and Office Services dimensions.
The space has many of the features you'll
find in new-generation larger BRG
offices. Besides multi-purpose Board
Rooms that double up as a classroom, a
specialized video-conferencing area, war
rooms, and team meeting spaces, the
iconic feature of the Chicago office is its
limestone lined, Lake-facing Library
where employees will be able to enjoy
the stunning views while applying their
talents. The café area turns even a
simple bagel into a fine dining
experience. It probably has one of the
best views in Chicago and everyone will
be able to enjoy it on a daily basis.

This is probably the brightest space we
have in the entire firm. There really isn't
a bad seat in the whole office, it is truly
an office designed by the users for the
users. As Cher Fieri, the Chicago Office
Director says it best: "The workspace
design is ideal for collaboration amongst
colleagues. There is a perfect balance
between openness for communication,
accessibility, and privacy to ensure
productivity remains strong with
enhanced opportunities for interaction.
The communal areas within the café and
library are inviting for socializing and
brainstorming with views that are sure to
motivate and inspire!"
We truly hope everyone in the firm
appreciates how far we have gotten
in 6 years. Personally, I think the
contrasting pictures of our old and
new Chicago offices says it all!
