2. Problem Statement and Proposed Solution
Store Rooms are often less visited and the physical switches may be placed far inside the
room or covered by the storage items which might not be visible due to darkness and
people might fall in the darkness due to some obstacle while searching for the switch. Also
when people forget to switch off the lights, it leads to power wastage and decrease in the
lifetime of light bulb.
So, the aim of this project is to make a circuit which automatically turns ON the light
when a person opens the door of the storeroom completely and it automatically turns it
OFF when the door is closed.

3. Literature survey
● Automatic Room Light Controller
This project counts the number of person entering in the room and accordingly lights up the room but in
automatic storeroom light counting of person is not required.[2]
● Smart Street Light
It senses intensity of light and automatically turns ON the light when it becomes dark and turns it OFF when
it becomes bright but the drawback is that it can only be used in outdoor circuits like street light not in closed
room.[3]
● Automatic Washroom Light Controller
This project represents the simple operation of an intelligent electronic microcontroller that is programmed
to control the washroom light using an electromagnetic relay coil.
But the disadvantage is that sometimes system gets operated in day time and turns ON the light which is
waste of Electricity.[4]

10. Result & Conclusion
• Result
When the person entered the room, the switch gets pressed thereby glowing the
bulb and when the person leaves the room the bulb automatically gets switched off.
• Conclusion
Hence the aim of making the automatic storeroom light in which the light of the
storeroom turns on and off without physically touching the switch based on opening and
closing of door is achieved and thereby saving electricity.
