2. The simple present of all verbs,
except /to be/ is based on
their simple form (infinitive
without to). The verbs of the

(He, She, Sofi, His friend, It,
etc.) are made by adding
/s/or/es to their simple form.

3. The simple forms that end in letter s, ss, sh, ch, x, z, or o that
preceded by a consonant:

Watch watches = memperhatikan/ menonoton
Brush brushes = menyikat/menyeka

4. The simple forms that end in /y/ which is preceded
by consonant, the /es/ is added after changing
/y/ into /i/
Cry cries = menangis
Dry dries = menjemur/mengeringkan
Fry fries = mengoreng
Glorify glorifies = memuja/mengagungkan
Hurry hurries= menyegarkan/tergesa-gesa
Fly flies = menerbangkan/terbang
Spy spies = melihat
Study studies= belajar
Try tries = mencoba

5. However, the simple forms that end in /y/
which is not preceded by a consonant (/y/
is preceded by a vowel), the /s/ is added
without changing /y/ into /i/

Every morning = setiap pagi
Every afternoon = setiap sore
Every evening = setiap malam
Every day = setiap hari
Every Friday = setiap Jum`at
Every week = setiap minggu
Every month = setiap bulan
Every year = setiap tahun
Once a day = sekali dalam sehari
Twice a week = duakali dalam seminggu
Twice a month = dua kali dalam sebulan
Twice a year = dua kali dalam setahun
On Friday = pada hari Jum`at
