students immediately for
behaviors that they are
reinforcing.

Operant Conditioning
How is
behaviorism apply
in the classroom?
Teacher leads the class through a
topic.
Students listen silently.
Teacher then sets a task based
on the information.
Students complete the task and
await feedback.
The teacher gives feedback, then
sets the next task.
With each round of feedback, the
student is being conditioned to
learn the material.

today’s classroom.

Paulo Freire opposed the traditional
teaching method. He believed that
students were not empty vessels to
be filled with knowledge. Instead, they
should be treated as creators of
knowledge.

- Emphasizes the importance of
culture and context in
understanding what occurs in
society and constructing
knowledge based on this
understanding.

- One of the newest approaches
to pedagogy.
- This approach can be broadly
defined as the process of
learning via technology and
developing the skills to
navigate vast networks
of information such as the
internet.

The teacher “supports the students in their
search and supply of relevant material,
coordinates the students' presentations of
individual milestones of their projects,
moderates discussions, consults in all kinds
of problem-solving and seeking for solutions,
lectures on topics that are selected.
FILIPINO
Ang MELCs ay tumutugon sa pangunahing layunin ng pag-aaral ng Filipino, ang
makalinang ng isang buo at ganap na Filipinong may kapaki-pakinabang na
literasi. Isinaalang-alang din ang pagsasakatuparan ng mga pamantayan sa
bawat baitang at ang kasama nitong pamantayan pangnilalaman at pamantayan
sa pagganap.
Dahil sa ilang MELCs sa iba pang markahan ng bawat baitang kinakailangan sa
lalong paglinang nito;
1. Pag-uulit ng ilang MELCs sa iba pang markahan ng bawat baitang kung
kinakailangan sa lalong paglinang nito.
2. Pag-unpack ng MELCs para sa mga tiyak na mga kasanayang
pampagkatuto.
3. Pagpili ng mga magkakasamang MELCs na sasakto para sa walong (8)
linggo.

Teaching Strategies for the
New Normal
Knowledge - Technology - Distance - Heart - Learning
Blended instruction is what the teacher does with technology.
Blended learning is where students use tech to have control over
path, place, and pace. - Eric Sheninger
The Pedagogy of Blended Learning
Station rotation
- is exactly what it sounds like -
students rotate through several
stations during a lesson block.
Instead of teaching a lesson to
all students at the same time,
teacher teaches the lesson to
small groups, customizing the
delivery each time to
differentiate for the learning
strengths of the individuals in each
group.
Remote blended
learning, or enriched
virtual blended learning,
is focused on online
coursework. In this type
of model students
complete a majority of
their coursework online
and then meet with the
teacher for certain
sessions.
The backbone of the Flex Model is
online learning, teachers are only
facilitators and provide support on an
on-demand basis as students move
on a fluid schedule among learning
activities. Students still mostly learn in
a brick-and-mortar environment with
the teacher on site, however
homework assignments are submitted
through an online platform. This model
offers much needed flexibility for
teachers and students alike by letting
them take more control over how they
use their time.
Flipped classroom is a type of
blended learning where
students
are introduced to content at
home and practice working
through it at school. This is the
reverse of the more common
practice of
introducing new content at
school, then assigning
homework and projects to
completed by the students
independently at home.
Project-based
learning immerses
students in an engaging
question, problem or
challenge for an
extended period. It's a
hands-on approach that
can build skills,
mindsets and behaviors
needed for success in
the modern workplace.

  • 2. Learning is a journey, not a destination. Learning is a lifelong process, it is a self- directed and self-paced journey of discovery… The purpose of learning is not to “arrive” at a particular level of proficiency “on time”.

Review Pedagogical Skills: Collaboration Working with others to achieve learning goals Constructivism Learners are the builders of knowledge while the teacher facilitates learning Integrative Teaching Creating real-world tasks and connecting different disciplines within the lesson Inquiry-Based Approach Asking questions and letting students figure out answers to problems and challenges Reflective Thinking Focusing on the process of making judgments about what has happened.

Learning Theory #1 Behaviorism - The teacher should be in control of the classroom and that repetition is the best way to learn. - Reinforcement system (Use strategies such as a “Token Economy” to reward students immediately for behaviors that they are reinforcing. Edward Thorndike and a cat in the puzzle box Operant Conditioning
  • 6. How is behaviorism apply in the classroom? Teacher leads the class through a topic. Students listen silently. Teacher then sets a task based on the information. Students complete the task and await feedback. The teacher gives feedback, then sets the next task. With each round of feedback, the student is being conditioned to learn the material. Learning Theory #1 Repetition and reward is still the basis for revision and having a reward system and teacher-led learning is a pillar for today’s classroom. This is why pedagogy exists… To compare and re-evaluate our ways of teaching to think how it can be done differently and how we can improve.

Learning Theory # 2 Liberationism - center around the student rather than the teacher. - Practice of freedom - Process of discovery - Critical thinking and self- expression Paulo Freire opposed the traditional teaching method. He believed that students were not empty vessels to be filled with knowledge. Instead, they should be treated as creators of knowledge.
  • 8. Learning Theory # 3 Social Constructivism - Emphasizes the importance of culture and context in understanding what occurs in society and constructing knowledge based on this understanding. - Collaboration - Real-life situation Jean Piaget Cognitive Constructivism

Learning Theory # 4 Connectivism - One of the newest approaches to pedagogy. - This approach can be broadly defined as the process of learning via technology and developing the skills to navigate vast networks of information such as the internet. George Siemens The teacher “supports the students in their search and supply of relevant material, coordinates the students' presentations of individual milestones of their projects, moderates discussions, consults in all kinds of problem-solving and seeking for solutions, lectures on topics that are selected.

  • 12. FILIPINO Ang MELCs ay tumutugon sa pangunahing layunin ng pag-aaral ng Filipino, ang makalinang ng isang buo at ganap na Filipinong may kapaki-pakinabang na literasi. Isinaalang-alang din ang pagsasakatuparan ng mga pamantayan sa bawat baitang at ang kasama nitong pamantayan pangnilalaman at pamantayan sa pagganap. Dahil sa ilang MELCs sa iba pang markahan ng bawat baitang kinakailangan sa lalong paglinang nito; 1. Pag-uulit ng ilang MELCs sa iba pang markahan ng bawat baitang kung kinakailangan sa lalong paglinang nito. 2. Pag-unpack ng MELCs para sa mga tiyak na mga kasanayang pampagkatuto. 3. Pagpili ng mga magkakasamang MELCs na sasakto para sa walong (8) linggo.

  • 16. Blended instruction is what the teacher does with technology. Blended learning is where students use tech to have control over path, place, and pace. - Eric Sheninger The Pedagogy of Blended Learning
  • 17. Station rotation - is exactly what it sounds like - students rotate through several stations during a lesson block. Instead of teaching a lesson to all students at the same time, teacher teaches the lesson to small groups, customizing the delivery each time to differentiate for the learning strengths of the individuals in each group.
  • 18. Remote blended learning, or enriched virtual blended learning, is focused on online coursework. In this type of model students complete a majority of their coursework online and then meet with the teacher for certain sessions.
  • 19. The backbone of the Flex Model is online learning, teachers are only facilitators and provide support on an on-demand basis as students move on a fluid schedule among learning activities. Students still mostly learn in a brick-and-mortar environment with the teacher on site, however homework assignments are submitted through an online platform. This model offers much needed flexibility for teachers and students alike by letting them take more control over how they use their time.
  • 20. Flipped classroom is a type of blended learning where students are introduced to content at home and practice working through it at school. This is the reverse of the more common practice of introducing new content at school, then assigning homework and projects to completed by the students independently at home.
  • 21. Project-based learning immerses students in an engaging question, problem or challenge for an extended period. It's a hands-on approach that can build skills, mindsets and behaviors needed for success in the modern workplace.
