This is a personal friend of mine who has been working on music for over 15 years. Mark Brown is the lead singer teamed up
with Devon, Nick and Josh, who write original music and have played with bands such as Saving Able, Bumblefoot from AC/DC
and Jeff Scott Soto from Journey. With music that inspires and talks about things many don’t want to talk about like depression
and suicide.
5. Analysis
• The work itself is constructed by similar yet difference hand
movements and voice fluctuations as well as various keys.
• Some of the similarities in the works are cords and keys,
yet most songs involve words about lost love or some type
of heartbreak, but there are also songs about fun with
friends
• Some of the points to the music itself is about how it
makes you feel and how you interpret it.
• There is not really any specific subjects or people in the
song, but each individual can interpret that the song is for
them or about them depending on the nature and where
they are in that exact moment. It has the ability to make
you cry, love and have remorse, it is up to the individual
hearing it in that moment.
6. Interpretation
• The expressive language I would use is tragically beautiful. It’s all about
interpretation to each individual, that’s what good music does.
• This group actually reminds me a lot of times about what is happening in
my life at different times and many others have commented the same with
such a wide range of songs from happy to sad.
• The work actually relates to a lot of things many people are dealing with
and will always deal with. We have spent a lot of time, due to COVID away
from friends, so when you are a couple there is just the two of you….hence
the song 2 Shot glasses. There is also a song called Gone Fishing, talking
about going fishing!! But there are also songs about heartbreak,
personally, my favorite song at the moment is Wish I Was, it talks about the
person questions why they weren’t good enough for someone else in this
persons eyes and how it feels like the bottom is falling out.
7. Evaluation
• There are several qualities that make me feel this is a successful piece of work. Lets
start with the sound. It’s a cross of multiple music types and sounds original. The lyrics
themselves have a way of making you want to sing along and the songs are about
something everyone can relate to in some way shape or form.
• I think that when you are looking for a comparison, you can look at country music
influences such as Chris Young and Brooks and Dunn, but then look at old school rock
such as Van Morrison and Eddie Money.
• Criteria I could use to help others judge this work is 1) how did it make you feel in that
moment? 2) Did you find the lyrics catchy and find yourself humming along? 3) Did it
make you want to get out of your chair and dance?
• The work itself is extremely original. I feel that it is original because while it is influenced
by different genres of work, this combines them all together. You could view it as
country or rock, but in all reality it can be preformed as either!

11. Historical Information:
First invented in Spain, the guitar traces back to the 15th Century and
originally had 4 pairs of strings, compared to 6 that it currently has
now. This is what the ukulele was actually derived from. During the
Renaissance time frame, it was actually not very popular and was not
considered a serious instrument. The guitar saw improvements and
became more popular during the Classical period and was actually a
favorite instrument to use when preforming for crowds.

13. Since music was first discovered, it has had meaning in some way, shape or form. It was used to entertain
Kings and Queens, it was used to announce the arrival of someone of great importance and to this day, while
there are multiple types of music, which is a form of art, because it is expressive and hopefully touches a
nerve, it is still believed that it is a form of expression. Not all music will make everyone feel something, but if
it resonates with you in anyway, it lets you know that perhaps you aren’t alone in whatever you are feeling in
that exact moment! This is what I personally love about music, it can make you happy when you are sad, it
can help you mourn the loss of someone, it can make you want to dance like no one is watching! While I
have the benefit of these guys being my personal friends, they are extremely hard on their art and what they
put out!
