Background:
Talent Matters Ltd offers a wide range of assessment and development support from large scale
recruitment to high intensity individual ‘whole person assessment’ with the use of psychometric tests,
assessments of organisation and job fit and competency based interviewing. In addition, one to one
coaching, and organisation development are offered with particular expertise in working with
challenging groups to facilitate change in business, team and personal performance.
Achievements have included (in some cases on a sub-contractor basis)
• The one to one profiling and coaching of board members and senior managers within a subsidiary of a
multinational oil company, to establish the current strengths within the leadership team and the
potential for the company to meet growth targets.
• Work with a world leading professional services partnership (LLP) with the assessment of potential
directors and partners for the UK and European parts of the global operation.
• Extensive experience of Senior Management assessment in Malaysia and the Middle East: Working
with large oil and petrochemical companies with the delivery of challenging assessment centres aimed
at supporting company–wide talent management process for all leadership and management levels.
• Various Senior Public Sector and Third Sector Selection projects: Working with clients such as: The
United Nations, UK Ministry of Defence, the BBC and the Welsh Assembly Government to select new
directors and senior leaders.
• Lloyds TSB Projects: Piloted, provided improvements to and delivered a new talent identification
process for Lloyds TSB Wholesale and International Banking (W&IB). This included the delivery of
challenging workshops for all the directors and senior managers of the division, including delivery in the
Channel Islands, New York and Miami. Excellent feedback led to involvement in the design and
delivery of a two-day performance management programme with a view to improving the talent
identification and performance management skills of all directors and senior managers within the
division.
• AXA Sunlife, Identifying Talent Project: Working with AXA Life in Bristol. A development centre
process and follow up interventions were designed and introduced to identify middle managers ready to
move on to senior management.

Thesis research completed using a globally recognised motivational fit questionnaire:
Research into the possible links between a person’s ‘Motivational Fit’ (a combination of job and
organisation fit) were studied in conjunction with potential influences on an individual to ‘fake’ behaviour
and the effects on retention and absence.

Achievements include:
• Securing over £300,000 of business within the first year at TSW with major projects including:
becoming a key supplier for the Department of Work and Pensions ‘Leadership for Change’
programme, becoming an accredited supplier for the BBC and delivering leadership development
programmes within BBC Wales and the BBC Archives division in London.
• Supporting major organisational change within the Probation Service in the Midlands with the design
and delivery of a leadership development programme for middle managers, 1:1 coaching and
