Since 2004 we have enjoyed steady growth in our chosen markets as more and more clients identify with our high levels of service.
We act for agent, principal and cargo owner alike, always with the same intent and philosophy being that our responsibility is to move the cargo along
the logistics chain cost effectively and with the minimum of fuss by alleviating the many pitfalls that can exist in this often complex process particularly
when transiting landlocked countries to deliver to final destination.
While our range of services covers the full spectrum of the freight industry from general freight forwarding and import customs broking to seafreight
and road transport, it is within the heavy industrial sectors and project logistics arenas that our main focus and passion finds the greatest reward.
With South Africa’s east coast and particularly Durban and Richards Bay being the main entry points for the north south corridor it is no co-incidence
that our Southern African landlocked neighbours such as Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and DRC feature heavily in our daily activities. Industries and
cargoes handled include; mining equipment, process plants, power generation equipment both hydro-electrical and thermal, power transmission and
distribution, construction and agricultural plant and equipment. We also offer clients an alternative inland routing to these countries via Walvis Bay
which is particularly useful for cargoes from East coast North and South America, UK, Ireland and NWC.
In South Africa, we have been fortunate to be appointed as local agents for Kalmar and Liebherr to handle all landside logistics and charter vessel
agency, where applicable, for all cranes that have been supplied to Transnet Port Terminals since 2006. We are also an approved Transnet vendor
having undertaken numerous projects on their behalf.
This has covered the ports of Durban, Richards Bay, East London, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and the new port of Ngqura, as well as Walvis Bay for
Namport, comprising over 220 machines to date, including straddle carriers, rubber tyred gantries, ship to shore gantries, harbour mobile cranes and a
host of smaller container handling equipment.

Project cargo management
• A key competency at Paccon is our project cargo experience. Whether it's a one-off shipment or a long term project, we are well versed in
understanding the dynamics of project shipments whether it is taking control ex supplier’s works and delivering to door at destination or
acting as a local partner for the lead project managers.
• With the variety of challenges involved in projects in Africa, it's good to know that you're dealing with a local company with African roots and
on the ground experience. No two projects are the same and adaptability is important as is assembling and managing the various 3rd party
sub-contractors - from cargo surveyors, to abnormal transport operators and border agents.
• International affiliations – we are members of two global project logistics associations, WCAPN (World Cargo Alliance Project Network)
www.wcapn.com and GPLN (Global Project Logistics Network) www.gpln.net which provides us with direct access to more than 400 approved
agents across six continents. So no matter where your equipment is from or where it’s going to, Paccon Logistics can provide a full door to
door service. This global reach allows us to compete with the big multi-nationals while at the same time offering small company flexibility and
responsiveness.
Seafreight broking
• FCL and break-bulk seafreight – through strong relationships with selected shipping lines and charter brokers, we are able to provide clients
with a personalised freight brokerage service across all trades to / from South Africa.
Freight forwarding & Customs broking
• We offer general freight forwarding services between any two points in the international trading environment, be it in its longest natural form
from ex works at the supplier’s premises through to delivered at consignee door duty paid or any shorter journey in-between.

Marine insurance
• An often overlooked aspect of international trade, marine insurance is not the expensive luxury that many cargo owners believe it to be. In
fact marine insurance should be considered a de facto part of your international trading or shipping activities even if it is your own equipment
being moved to a contract site in some far of land as opposed to a commercial sale of goods. Accidents are a fact of life and as international
trade increases so too do the number of incidents resulting in damage or loss. In the event of a ship floundering the last thing you want is to
be uninsured when the ship owner declares General Average, the costs could be crippling to your business.
• We have partnered with Eikos Risk Applications (Pty) Ltd whom we believe to be the most innovative provider of marine related insurance

Liability and Errors & Omissions Insurance
• We hold legal liability and errors & omissions cover in the amount of USD2000000.00 which is managed by Galleon Marine and underwritten
through Lloyds of London.
• We are also able to provide project specific insurance where required.

Heavy-lift air charter
Three successive transformer failures at a client’s mine in DRC led to an urgent request for us to arrange 3 air charters in a space of 5 weeks ex
Johannesburg.
Due to prompt availability we first tried an Ilyushin 76 but the loading & off-loading method was extremely difficult due to the limited cargo opening
and having to use a scissor-lift for 38 ton was not considered ideal.

For the next 2 charters we employed the AN124 which proved to be extremely capable and versatile if substantially more expensive.
