Melbourne Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the construction a low-
energy drying pan facility to transfer and dry 24,000 dry tonnes per year of wastewater sludge at
the Western Treatment Plant. This project also cater for the transfer and effective treatment of all
related sludge drying inputs and outputs, such as rainfall runoff and sludge supernatant,
effectively integrating the drying facility with existing assets and processes. It also involved
upgrading the existing supernatant pumps to a bigger flow capacity
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - LSG/CSG Compressors Renewal ETP (VIC) for Melbourne
Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the construction and upgrading and
replacing 8 nos. digesters recirculation biogas compressors (each 2040 m3/hr) inclusive of biogas
piping and digesters’ pressure relief valves and flame arrestors
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for the detailed design of Eastern Treatment Plant Odour
Reduction Stage 2 project (VIC) for Melbourne Water Corp. The project was for the design and
construction of a new foul air extraction system from existing and new aeration tanks settled
sewage channels and RAS channel to the existing biofilters with maximum capacity of 62,000
m3/hr
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Reliability Upgrade at Winneke Water Treatment Plant
(VIC) for Melbourne Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the
construction of two additional gravity sand filters (lateral floor) to compliment the existing14 filters
to give a total plant capacity of 560 MLD. Each filter consists of duplex beds and each bed size is
18m length x 4m wide

Treatment Plant (VIC) for Melbourne Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design
for the construction and upgrading the existing raw water pump’s slip ring motors to 6.6kV
1600kW variable frequency motors inclusive of motor cooling system
Senior Mechanical Design - Winneke Sludge Management project (VIC) for Melbourne Water
Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the construction and selection of all the
pumping requirements for sludge treatment from clarifiers & filter washout water up to sludge
feeding centrifuge and supernatant water. The sludge load is up to 38500 kg/day DS produced
from Winneke 580MLD water treatment plant
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Winneke Caustic Absorption Upgrade project (VIC) for
Melbourne Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the construction and
upgrading the existing chlorine gas absorption system using caustic. The caustic storage and
chlorine absorption tank has a volume of 2250 litres capacity
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Monbulk Fluoride and Lime Upgrade project (VIC) for
Melbourne Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the construction of a
new sodium fluoride and sodium hydroxide (caustic) chemical dosing systems to replace the
existing sodium silicofluoride and lime dosing systems. The new dosing plants have capacity for
dosing the water supply up to 24 MLD

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Yarra Glen Pump Station & Chemical Renewal project
(VIC) for Melbourne Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the
construction of a new treated water pump station to replace the existing obsolete pump station.
The new pump station has a pumping capacity of up to 60 L/s. The project was also to design and
construct a new sodium hypochlorite dosing plant to replace the existing obsolete sodium
hypochlorite dosing plant
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Lusatia Park Hypochlorite Plant Upgrade project (VIC) for
Melbourne Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the construction of a
new sodium hypochlorite booster dosing plant to replace the existing obsolete sodium
hypochlorite dosing plant
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Martyr Road Hypochlorite Plant Upgrade project for
Melbourne Water Corp. I was involved in the detail mechanical design for the construction a new
sodium hypochlorite dosing plant to replace the existing obsolete sodium hypochlorite dosing
plant. This plant has dosing capacity of up to 10.6 MLD of potable water.
Key Achievements
Was seconded to Water Resources Alliance for 4 ½ years and was a key mechanical design
engineer based at Winneke Water Treatment Plant and Eastern Treatment Plant as part of the
Water Plan 2.
Successfully worked on more than 20 big and small projects (multiple projects at one time) for the
alliance in water and waste water treatment plants upgrading, refurbishment and new plant
construction all over Melbourne area for Melbourne Water Corp.
Established a strong relationship with all stakeholders in Melbourne Water in meeting all their
requirements during the life cycle of the design phase.

was responsible for the detail engineering design of a water treatment plant to supply water for
the ammonium nitrate facility. The plant comprises of Dissolved Air Floatation, Ultra-Filtration,
Reverse Osmosis, Mixed Bed, Condensate Polisher, chemicals dosing plants, neutralisation
plant, pumpings, storage tanks and etc
Engineering Manager – Tamar Valley Power Station Water Treatment Plant (TAS) for Alinta
Energy. I was responsible for the detail engineering design of the water treatment plant to supply
water to cooling towers and demin water for the power generators. The plant comprises of Ultra
Filtration, Reverse Osmosis, Mixed Bed, chemical dosing plants, neutralisation plant, pumpings,
storage tanks and etc.
Engineering Manager – Alinta Wagerup (Power Plant), Demineralised Water Treatment Plant
project (WA) for Alinta Energy. I was responsible for the detail engineering design of the water
treatment plant to supply water to cooling towers and demin water for the power generators. The
plant comprises of Activated Carbon Filters, Anion Exchanger, Cation Exchanger, Mixed Bed,
chemical dosing plants, neutralisation plant, pumpings, storage tanks and etc

Board Singapore. I was responsible for the detail engineering design of UV disinfection system
and the upgrading of existing sand filtration backwash/air scouring and related processes such as
filter control and chemical dosing
Engineering Manager – Temburong Water Supply (Brunei) for Public Works Department, Brunei. I
was responsible for the detail engineering and process design of a potable water treatment plant
with a capacity of 5.75 MLD. The process comprises of aerator, flocculators, sedimentation tanks,
gravity sand filters, filter backwashing and air scouring system, clear water tank, alum, lime,
chlorine and polymer chemical dosing plants
Engineering Manager – Bukit Barun Stage 6 Water Supply ( Brunei) for Public Works Department,
Brunei. I was responsible for the detail engineering and process design of a potable water
treatment plant with a capacity of 63MLD. The process comprises of flocculators, lamella plate
clarifiers, gravity sand filters, filter backwashing and air scouring systems, chlorine contact tank,
treated water tank, alum, lime, chlorine and polymer chemical dosing plants
Engineering Manager – Hulu Terangganu Water Supply Scheme (Malaysia) for Public Works
Department, Malaysia. I was responsible for the detail engineering and process design of a
potable water treatment plant with a capacity of 30MLD. The process comprises of flash mixing,
flat bottom clarifiers with tube settlers, gravity sand filters, filter backwashing and air scouring
systems, clear water tank, alum, lime, chlorine and polymer chemical dosing plants
Engineering Manager – Limbang Water Supply Phase 2 (Malaysia) for Public Works Department,
Malaysia. I was responsible for the detail engineering and process design of a potable water
treatment plant and treated water pump station with a capacity of 25MLD. The process comprises
of flash mixing, flocculators, sedimentation tanks gravity sand filters, filter backwashing and air
scouring systems, clear water tank, alum, lime, chlorine and polymer chemical dosing plants,
treated water pump station and sludge treatment using centrifuge
Project Manager – Bintulu Water Supply Phase 3 (Malaysia) for Public Works Department,
Malaysia. The project involved the construction of a new water treatment plant to augment the
existing plant with additional capacity of 100 MLD. The process comprises of flash mixing,
flocculators, In-Filter DAF, filter backwashing and air scouring systems, clear water tank, alum,
lime, chlorine and polymer chemical dosing plants. The chlorine system is of the on-site hypo
generation using salt
Senior Engineer – Nakon Pathom-Samut Sakhorn (West Bangkok) Water Supply Project
(Thailand) for Thai Tap Water Company Ltd. The project involved the new water treatment plant
of 320MLD to supply water to the West Bangkok area. I was involved in the design and
construction of the lime and chlorine gas plants
Project Engineer – Sg.Merotai Pumping Station (Malaysia) for Timatch Sdn Bhd. The project
involved the plant design and construction of 40MLD river water intake pumping station
Project Engineer – Sandakan Pumping Station (Malaysia) for Timatch Sdn Bhd. The project
involved the plant design and construction of 80MLD river water intake pumping station
Project Engineer – Tawau Waster Supply (Malaysia) for Timatch Sdn Bhd. The project involved
the design and construction of a new water treatment plant capacity 40 MLD. The process
comprises of flash mixing, flocculators, sedimentation tanks, gravity sand filters, filter
backwashing and air scouring systems, clear water tank, alum, lime, chlorine and polymer
chemical dosing plants. The project also involved the construction of a river intake station and
treated water pumping station
Tendering/Proposal Manager/Engineer – Preparing and submitting more than 40 water treatment
projects.
Key Achievements
Started as a project engineer and quickly gained sufficient technical knowledge and experience to
be promoted to Senior Engineer, then Project Manager and eventually Engineering Manager.
Was transferred to Singapore office as Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in the
demanding working environment in Singapore.
After 2 years working in Singapore, returned to the Malaysia office to lead and take charge in
bidding for projects.
