Final create an app to perform intelligent searched on your data

Herunterladen, um offline zu lesen

A standard search for a site can return too many results for someone to want to go through. However, it’s possible to quickly build out a search interface for your IBM Watson Discovery instance using out-of-the-box UI components that query and manipulate the enriched data to return more relevant search results. In this webinar, we will demonstrate how to use individual UI components to visualize insights.

  • Some of the current challenges businesses deal with include time constraints, unstructured data analysis, and the need for specialized knowledge. A large amount of manual work is necessary in addressing these problems.
With Discovery, however, businesses can successfully reduce the time it takes to build apps that extract value from structured and unstructured data …

Some of the benefits that Discovery includes are…
Automated ingestion: Discovery crawls, converts, enriches and normalizes data sets
Diverse content sources: Discovery offers bring your own data and other options, allowing you to securely explore proprietary content as well as free, pre-enriched third-party content (like news-–see bullet below) licensed public content, or combine them all
Pre-enriched third-party content, including Discovery News: Gain insights pre-enriched news content with our curated list of 200K news sources, constantly updated, ingested, enriched and available to you without any other effort.

  • So why Discovery?
Spend less time struggling with your data. Automated ingestion and integrated natural language processing in a fully managed cloud service removes the complexity from dealing with natural language content.

Easily adapt Discovery’s understanding of your corpus with integrated machine learning to surface the most relevant answers. Teach Discovery to apply the knowledge of unique entities and relations in your industry or organization with Watson Knowledge Studio.

Uncover deep connections throughout your data by using advanced AI functions out of the box, such as natural language queries, passage retrieval, relevancy training, relationship graphs, element classification and anomaly detection.

Discovery is able to provide rapid results, to adapt to any domain, and apply advanced AI functions out of the box.

Business personnel devote too much of their valuable time sifting through different data sources and documentation to find the information they need. Discovery helps address this problem and brings answers to the surface with greater speed. With a small amount of training, you can train and teach Discovery to apply the knowledge of your particular domain or industry to provide a more personalized and specific experience. Out of the box, Discovery is able to apply advanced AI functions such as natural language queries, passage retrieval, relevancy training, relationship graphs, element classification and anomaly detection.

  • The three steps to going from data to insights are ingest, enrich and query. Let’s drill down a bit.

Ingest is how you bring data into discovery. Discovery can incorporate data of different formats, from different sources and there are actually three ways in which you can ingest your data. For smaller document sets, you can use our UI/tooling interface to just drag and drop data into your Discovery instance. If you are pulling data from other cloud repositories, and want to automate ingestion, we have a very powerful set of APIs to bring in the data. Finally, if your data resides in an enterprise repository such as file systems, sharepoint, then you can ingest your data with our data crawler.

One of the key cool differentiators of Discovery compared to search engines that makes it intelligent is we just don’t bring data in, we make it smarter in the process. We do this by passing the data through a Natural Language Processing pipeline which extracts key meta data from the raw natural language data. This is what we refer to as enriching the data. We have three ways to enrich the data – using our foundational enrichments powered by Watson NLU that includes entities, relations, concepts, sentiment, keywords and so on. For compliance use cases, we have a special set of enrichments called element classification that extracts meta data from contractual documents. Finally for businesses that need very specialized meta data extraction in their use cases you can use custom annotation models trained on specific entities and relations by subject matter experts to do custom NLP.

Now you have ingested your data and enriched it. The third step is just now getting insights from that data. We offer several out of the box AI capabilities for you to get those insights without you having to dig deep. Our powerful query module can be used to do complex aggregated queries, filter queries – you can detect anomalies within a time series data, retrieve just relevant passages from your data or even use an underlying knowledge graph to power your analysis.
  • In order to understand how Watson Discovery refines the search results you first need to understand what are enrichments.
I won’t go into too much details about this…because we will be covering this in the demo however just briefly
You can think of enrichments like parameters by which the search results are narrowed down, and only the most relevant results are displayed.
For the purpose of this demo we will be leveraging only enrichments, however there are a lot more which you can use…you can learn all about enrichments from the link.
The 3 enrichments that we will cover today in the demo are:

Entity Extraction: basically means that you can retrieve search results which are related to a specific person, place or organization examples of entities can be IBM, NY etc.
Sentiment Analysis: mean what's the general tone of the results, is it positive or negative, e.g. news about IBM
Keywork extraction: This is simply searching according to the keywords mentioned in the query string.

  • More use-cases on Watson Discovery:
Prudential: 32% reduction in call volume at the call center within six months
Honda reduce the time required to understand the customer feedback by 80%
Grammy Awards analyzed over 18million articles and blogs and bios to produce bite-sized insights on hundreds of GRAMMY artists & celebrities
Finance professionals can search more than 1.5M tax documents with a more nartual and accurate interface
Crush bank created IT support application using to quickly find relevant technical support information increasing first time resolution
DXC.technology reduced the number of calls placed on hold by more than 50% by implementing an Agent Assist Solution

  • IBM Watson® Studio helps data scientists and analysts prepare data and build models at scale across any cloud.
