4. Double Page Spread:
Final Product
When creating my prelim I didn't’t make
Double page spread. I felt my progression in
this was less as a result as I hadn't had as
much practice. I still learnt skills in InDesign
when creating this. I had nothing to
compare it too so I couldn't’t improve each
aspect to make a better product. I learnt
how to write an article better, with features
often present in a magazine. I learnt how to
lay out the double page spread and used
existing products as the only guidance as a
result of not having done a prelim product.
5. What I have learnt…
I have learnt to use different programs such as InDesign, I hadn't used this before so learning
about this was hard, however by learning these new skills it meant I could improve my quality of
work as it was very useful to create a professional looking product. The lines helped me keep my
work straight and looking neat. It impacted on my work as it better, without using it would have
had to use another program that wouldn't’t be as easy probably resulting in more time needed as
well. I developed skills in Photoshop further to develop my product to the best it could be,
without these skills I would only have been able to create very basic pages with less available
tools and effects. For example I would have found It very difficult to overlay my models to my
masthead without the lasso tool being available. So as I moved on from my prelim to my final
product all my skills helped me to create a better final product in comparison. From my prelim,
there was a lot more work to do in my final product, such as more research, evaluations,
amendments, questionnaires and a lot more, this meant I learnt to keep on top of more work and
time myself better to ensure I met my deadlines.
