The document is a presentation on the origins, objectives, achievements, and dissolution of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC). It was established in 1951 by Robert Schuman and Jean Monet to integrate the coal and steel industries of Western Europe and prevent another war between France and Germany. The ECSC had six initial members and its structures included the High Authority, Assembly, Court of Justice, and Council. Its objectives were to contribute to economic development, ensure growth, and support the expansion of employment and standards of living. It achieved a revolutionary common market and customs union but failed to meet some long-term goals. It was dissolved and replaced by the European Economic Community and European Atomic Energy Community, merging into the three pillars of

3. INTRODUCTION
The ECSC was the first of a series of supranational
European institutions that would ultimately become
today's "European Union”. Established in 1951
mainly by Robert Schuman and Jean Monet, its
highest objective was to create “the United States of
Europe”.
However, this paper will deal first with the ECSC
origin. After we will analyze the main objectives and
finally we will explain the achievement &
dissolution.

10. CONCLUSION
In summary, the ECSC aimed not only to introduce
European peace, but also to contribute to the expansion
of the economy, the development of employment and
the improvement of the standard living of its citizens.
However, the ECSC failed to achieve several fundamental
objectives of the treaty of Paris.
Therefore, these failures could be put down to over
ambition in a short period of time, or that the goals were
merely political posturing to be ignored.
