Introduction
● Social welfare services are an integral part of socio- cultural
tradition of India
● They are coordinated & assisted by Ministry of Social
Welfare & Women's Affairs
● After Independence, on the basis of a survey made by the
Planning Commission, it was estimated that there were
10,000 voluntary organizations in the field of social
welfare. Today the number is much greater.
