Mormon Rock formation
Granular Structure
Alyssa Medina
Granular Structure of the rocks
shows sandstone. Mormon rocks
are composed of layers known
as sada, which can help
determine the weather by how
much it rains.
The rocks were formed on a tilted
fault, where the Pacific and North
American plate meet creating the
San Andreas Fault.Taken afternoon: 3/9/13

Cinder Hill (cinder
cone) also known as
Red Hill is a stratoe
Volcano.
Lava Flow
This lava flow was produce by
Cinder hill in the Inyo-Country
region once the lava was harden
from the eruption 500 years ago.
Creating the costal volcanic
range intrusive beneath the
surface.

Petroglyph
Alyssa Medina
Alyssa Medina
The native Americans would produce the
house rings as a foundation for their
homes and mark where the would settle.
The petroglyphs were made by the
native Americans as we see here they
drew sheep and a shaw man also
known as a medicine man. A
petroglyph is in the Coso region and
are in danger of keeping them from
being defaced. Taken afternoon:

14550 ft.

tallest mountain in
the U.S. This is made by the
glaciation of the mountains
where the valley is pushed
out by the moraines making
a smooth flat but hill like
land.

12. Diaz Lake Lone Pine Fault
Alyssa Medina Alyssa Medina
In 1872 the Diaz lake was created by
a large earthquake between the Inyo
mountains and Sierra Nevada
Mountains on the fault between them
and lone pine. the earthquake caused
the hills to rise and drop the ground
filling in with water creating the lake
known as a sag pond.
In 1872 the earthquake caused the base
of the Alabama hills to rise showing the
fault, creating the Diaz lake and also
caused 29 people that died from the
earthquake and destructions to those
near by cities.

13. Hot Stream
Alyssa Medina
The springs are hot due to them being along of the cracked fault and is
warm up by the volcanic activity underground warming the rocks. Also
when going down the stream the warmth of it decreases.

14. Due to Bark
beetles
Dead Forest Zone
The dead forest zone was created because they had to cut down the
trees because of the bark beetles causing dead trees and removing
the trees so they do not cause a fire. The bark Beetles are here
because of the climate change.

The tufa's were created by the
calcium carbonate. By the
calcium in the fresh water
bubbled up and mixed with the
carbon forming the linear line of
towers.
The old shore line
stretched out to the
border of Nevada,
after WW!! Los
Angeles decided to
produce the Los

17. Panum Crater
Alyssa Medina
Moraine
The glaciated valley was produced by the glaciers erode from the mountains due to
gravity and melting ice developing the Bloody Mary canyon and next to it the lateral
is V shape produce by water and terminal moraines are U shape made by ice when
the thunderstorms hit the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Panum Crater’s formed by
the magma when it erupted and the water cooling it down shaping it into a cinder
cone. Taken afternoon: 4/6/13
19. Terminal moraine
Bloody Mary
Canyon
Alyssa Medina
This lake is cirque in other words round; created by the glaciers
that would melt down the mountain. The lateral moraines produce
the V shape made by the ice of the glaciers and the Terminal
Moraine is a U shape made by water of the glaciers of the Bloody
Mary Canyon.

where it pushed back the mountains. Created on the U shape (terminal Moraine)
canyon by the ice glaciers by the Ice Age.

The cross really caught my attention since it is what is trending today is wearing
the cross. Also I didn’t know that the natives were in to Christ but but their own
god and interested me because it and the pendants around it were all carved by
stone and shell dated back 4,000 years ago in this are of the Great Basin.
