2. 1. In the case of an electric
shock, when a person is still
in contact with a 'live
conductor' which you cannot
switch off immediately,
insulate yourself on a dry
wood or thick paper or dry
mat, before attempting to
get him clear, even then do
not touch his body, pull his
clothes if they are dry or
push him clear with a piece
of dry wood
8. 7. Always maintain an earth
connection in a satisfactory
condition as safety depends
upon good earthing (A
ground or earth connection
is wire that connects the
metal frame of any electrical
device to the ground the wire
provides a path for electricity
to flow if the live wire
touches the metal frame. If
this happens and the
equipment is not grounded
properly a severe shock may
be felt by the operator
9. 8. Operate machines only
after you have received
instructions. Ask in motion.
Questions if any direction is
not clear. Do not oil any
machine which is in motion.
10. 9. Before handling
portable electrical
equipment, be sure that
it is disconnected from
the supply and your
hands should be dry.
Switching off may always
be not enough; leaking
insulation may give you
a serious shock
11. 10. Do not scuffle with
or play practical jokes
with your friends at the
time of practical.
12. 11. When mixing
acid in water,
always add acid in
water, drop by
drop, very slowly
and not the vice-
versa.
13. 12. When cells are being
arranged in a room, always
maintain ventilation and
never bring a naked flame
near the battery.
14. 13. In the case of
electric fire,
disconnect the
supply immediately
and do not throw
water on live
equipment.
15. 14. Do not use the fire
extinguisher on electrical
equipment unless it is clearly
marked suitable for the
purpose. Electrical fires can
be put out by using the
following types of
extinguishers: (a) Carbon
dioxide (b) Vaporizing liquid
(c) Dry chemical
16. 15. Before starting the
work above ground, on
poles or on towers, do
not forget to put on your
safety belt.
17. 16. When a ladder is in
use, it must be held by
some one from slipping
who should be present
all the time for safety.
18. 17. Lift objects with
your knees bent and
your back straight.
Ask for help if any
object is too heavy.
Handle all material
carefully
19. 18. Do not open or close
a main-switch without
permission from your
authority.
20. 19. Report the
authority immediately
in case of any
defective equipment,
broken cords or
plugs, or defective
machine.
23. 22. Make changes in
wiring circuits only
after the current has
been turned off.
24. 23. Mark all electric
circuits plainly and
every circuit must be
provided with fuse.
25. 24. If there is any
doubt about any
connection, call the
authority for advice.
26. 25. In case of electric
shock when breathing
stops, artificial
respiration must be
started immediately.
Send for a doctor as
soon as possible. Be
extremely careful
when removing the
victim from the big
voltage that caused
the shock.
27. NOTE:
1. MAKE A PRACTICAL NOTE
BOOK AS PREVIOUS YEAR.
2. WRITE DOWN ALL SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS IN
ELECTRICITY.
3. HW WRITE ANY 5 MORE
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
PRECAUTINOS OTHER THAN
ABOVE
4. BE SAFE STAY IN HOME IN
GOOD HEALTH
