2. The strengths of my campaign posters
This bit of peer feedback is about my poster campaign, and something that they have all said is that they like how the text
stands out for example 2 of the people who looked at my work both said that the words ”others” and “abusing” are in bold which
helps to draw attention to those specific words. I completely agree with what these people have said, this is why I chose to do
the words like this so that they stand out and I'm glad that my peers thought so to.
Another comment that I also agree and strongly agree with is that the poster is simplistic therefor meaning that people who see
it can easily find contact information for help and advice.
Another comment that I agree with is that the “ arm and fist is clever and the concept which further conveys my message” this is
exactly what I wanted to happen was to convey a further message within the arm and fist it looks good too which I really like.
Overall I strongly agree with this feedback mostly because of the fact that certain words stand out more than others and the
colors I have chosen to use stand out, I was really hoping to get this effect and from my feedback I know that this has worked
well so overall I'm very happy with this. During my planning I said this is the effect and message I want to get across and I
strongly know that I have now achieved this as my peers have said so. Based on this bit of peer feedback I think my finished
pieces are fit for their purpose especially this poster because it reflects on my planning and my first intentions.
3. The weaknesses of my campaign posters
I disagree with some of this feedback,” there needs to be a bigger space between the lines as it looks strange” I
did this on purpose to keep my text neat and inline and I personally think it looks good, not strange as said in my
feedback.
I also disagree with that the support section does not make sense because when I have researched existing
products during the planning I have actually found some posters like mine which have a support bit on them just
like mine, here for example you can see this poster which I have found on google has one to.
However I do agree with some of this feedback being that ”the text inside the Calligram is to small and hard to
read” If I was to do this again I would make it bigger, I ran out of time in order to make it bigger but I knew it
needed to be done so I’m quite happy for someone to say this as there basically disagreeing with me.
When I compare my work to other existing products I can see a resemblance as to how I have created mine for
example the two here at the side have a lot of negative space which is very similar to my poster campaign, I
wanted my work to look professional which I why I took advice from already existing product and this is also why I
strongly disagree with some of this feedback been that my works strange because I have focused on already
existing products to make my work look part of them and look professional, I think that the person who viewed
my work and wrote me feedback clearly doesn't’t know anything about poster campaigns.
4. The strengths of my logos
From this bit of peer feedback I can see that my logos are good because they convey a good message and a strength being
that the word ”strong” is written in bold capitals which really helps to convey the message and this person also likes how its
written in red to make it stand out and therefor further convey a message, I completely agree with what this person has said
in fact I was hoping to get this message across and I was hoping people would see it the way I did so my logo to me sounds like
its good enough because I have managed to get other people to feel the same way about it that I do.
Another positive comment was that the tag line is good because it says what my campaign is actually about rather than having
to work it out.
My peers also like that all the words within the logo are bold and stand out against the background, and that my logo is
powerful and straight to the point.
Overall I agree with all of this feedback this is the result and the feedback I was hoping for so that’s a good thing because my
work reflects from my planning.
5. Weaknesses of my logos
I disagree with some of this feedback, one of the things someone has said is that the words are too
close together, this I completely disagree with as I did this on purpose to make it look better than them
been spaced out.
However I do agree with that the tag line on the second logo “ say no to bullies” could be spaced out to
keep the logo in line and all square I ran out of time to do this but if I was to improve it I would follow
this persons feedback and adjust the spacing.
I also agree with that “ You could try putting the word no in bold and in red to make that stand out like
the word strong” I actually agree with this but I didn't’t try this but I think if I had time to to go back
and improve I could try that and see what its like and if it helps the logo to convey a bigger and better
message.
I disagree with what the last bit of peer feedback says, that it’s not a logo it’s more of a tag line, I
strongly disagree with this because logos can be just words they don’t need to have big images on an
make them look fancy, so I think this person clearly does not know what a logo is I also strongly disagree
with that it looks “weird” I don’t get how my logo can look weird its just text nothing weird about it.
6. The strengths of my merchandise
I have created a range of different merchandise and peers have said that they link clearly
with my campaign because the logos are the same on every product which I also think is
good as well.
Peers have also commented on that I have a range and a wide variety of merchandise
rather than specific products I have something for everyone.
Someone has said here that they like how simple my products and merchandise are
because they stand out and are straight to the point and its versatile and works well on a
range of different products.
These comments here are what I was hoping for I was hoping that people would see eye to
eye with me and see that my products are good because previously on other products I
have had comments saying my works weird and looks strange but as of the merchandise my
logo seems to be ok printed on product.
7. The weaknesses of my merchandise
Someone has actually said here that my merchandise is too simple just like the rest of my
products which I strongly disagree with because other people have said that they like how my
work is simple and straight to the point because its clear and bold and stands out where as one
person thinks its too simple so I strongly disagree with there comment.
I also disagree with that ” no one is going to want a poster with a small logo in the middle” I
think schools will which is why I disagree because schools will want a poster like this to put on
the walls in the corridor because there simple and straight to the point.
One person has actually said they cant pick out any weaknesses regarding this merchandise and
that the only thing they can think of is to add a hashtag or web link somewhere on the
merchandise products so that people can easily find my cause and for example this could be on
the back of the t-shirts, I agree with this person I think a web link would be handy to have on
merchandise because people can use it to find more information and help.
Another comment that I disagree with is that someone has said that I could have offered more
designs to include different designs for each idea, I disagree with this because my merchandise is
my campaign and therefor I think it should be all said designs for each products not millions of
different designs as people might get confused to who's campaign this actually is.
9. Are your finished Pieces fit for their
intended purpose?
In my very own opinion I think my finished pieces are fit for their intended purpose
because they bring about local of national change, for example my logos I have done
one against racism which fits in with this because racism happens globally and all over
the world as there is people with different color skins living all over the place.
They also raise awareness for example my products are straight to the point, my
posters could be put up in schools to raise awareness because a school is the worst
place ever for bullying.
My work is also to strengthen the community by bringing this campaign out and the
products I have produced can help to strengthen the community by been put on walls
in schools because I feel like schools don’t challenge bullying enough they don’t help
it enough as they should and by my products strengthening the community can
hopefully make people more aware.
I also know that my work is fit for purpose because I created and then sent out a
questionnaire with a series of questions for people to answer and have had responses
saying that they think my intended idea was to stop bullying, raise awareness, and to
support people who have been victims of bullying, so this is great because I was
hoping my work would reflect of my intended purpose and it has because people have
been telling me that it has by answering my questionnaire.
10. Do they communicate your message
clearly?
I think my products do communicate a message clearly for example the
message being that don’t bully and that bullying hurts however if I had more
time I would have been able to convey a different message that is better and
stronger in order to shock people into action and I don’t think the work I have
produced does that other than tells people to be strong.
I know that if I had more time on this my products would have more content
within them for example more information and statistics but because of time I
have not managed this well, although in my peer feed back they said my work
conveys a good message clearly and is strong.
Another reason as to why I think my work communicates my message is that I
have received a number of feedback from the questionnaire which suggests
this because I have had people commenting and saying they think I have shown
my point about bullying very clearly and explained it well however some
people thought I could of communicated the message better which more
statistics and facts instead of just some text for a logo.
Overall I do think I have communicated my message clearly because of the
feedback I have received
11. Are they appropriate for your
target audience?
I think my finished pieces are appropriate for my target audience
because I originally said my target audience was the ages between 12
and young adults and I can see my finished pieces been put up in schools
in hallways and classrooms because schools are the main place of
bullying.
I also strongly think in fact I know that my finished pieces are
appropriate for my target audience because it says so in the feed back
which I have received from creating and sending out my questionnaire, I
have received some very positive feedback that everyone who answered
the question “ Is my work appropriate for my target audience?” have all
said yes and commented saying “ with how I have grouped a big age
group and shown that bullying is not acceptable during any age that you
are” and that its very clear to understand my age group and the age I
have chosen to aim my products at.
This is good to hear because while I was creating my final products I had
to think very clearly about the age group and what the different ages
like to see and what they will feel more comfortable seeing in terms of
bullying and posters and what content is alright for them to see and what
wont upset them even more.
12. How effective are the techniques you
have used?
I actually think that the techniques that I used are effective because I have
managed to create designs which could be used for multiple purposes and I
know this because of the recent peer feedback which I have gotten from
sending out a questionnaire which people have picked out what they think my
aim was and they could tell because my work reflects on what my intention
was with the bullying campaign logos and posters.
I think the most effective technique which I used was creating the logo
because I have used spacing in Photoshop to make the logo fit together and
be inline and square. I also used fonts that are bolder to make words stand
out and different colors the reason why I think this is one of the most
effective techniques I have used is because my peers could tell what the
message was and that the techniques worked really well in order for them to
see this.
Another thing that I think is an effective technique I have used is creating a
calligram which conveys the message in my campaign because it includes lots
of different words associated with bullying.
13. Is the content effective?
When comparing my work to already existing products I can see that
the content in which I have produced and used for my campaign is
similar to the content in other work and campaigns, in which case I
know that the content in my work is effective because I have looked
at work that is already out there and has been created to give me
ideas and prompts in order to create my own work which is hopefully
better than those existing already.
14. What impact do you think your advertising
campaign will have on the public?
I think my advertising campaign will make the public think whether they are
been bullied or not my products will make them think about their views and
how they can help others who are a victim of bullying. I think this because I
have included information in my campaign such as web links and web
addresses which people can go to for help.
15. What are the technical and aesthetic
qualities of your work?
For my campaign I have produced logos which I think stand out the most from the
quality because it uses spacing and typography techniques in order to make it
look good and make certain words stand out more than others and I think this is a
good technical and aesthetic quality because it conveys the message clearly.
