2. Front Cover Process
I named the magazine bank as this is something said when
playing basketball
Like many magazines, I tried to not use too many colours. I
used four different colours. I tried to use colours that stood
out on the background such as yellow.
I gave the magazine a website link which I think get people
more involved with the magazine.
I put some of the text such as the text saying exclusive
interview in a yellow box so it stands out. I was inspired to do
this by the Rolling Stone magazine cover. I also had this text as
well as the text that said Allen Iverson bigger than the rest
since this shows that the interview with Allen Iverson is the
selling point of this magazine.
3. This was my first attempt at a
Magazine cover. I don’t like this
As much however as I think the
Colour scheme isn’t very good, I
have only used two fonts
and I could have chose a better
image.
4. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
• I will include the same logo font in my final design as I think it is a unique logo,
it is recognizable and works well on the front cover of a basketball magazine. I
may do the text a different colour depending on what the background is like.
• I may include a similar colour scheme to the one in my experiment as I think
the colours I used work well together. I think the white text stands out on the
dark background and the yellow box and black text also stand out.
• I may include a long shot or full body shot on the front cover. This means I can
include some background and the jersey that the player is wearing.
5. Double Page Process
This is my double page spread. I tried to make it
quite simplistic. I had a plain white background,
I made the headline yellow as this stood out on
the white background and also this was on of
the colours from the colour scheme I used for
the front cover.
On the page to the right I had a photo of just
Allen Iverson. I think that having not just writing
makes the magazine much easier to read
I used the same font for all the writing. I will not
do this in my final design, it was really just
because I couldn’t find any other fonts I liked
and I think that this font is very clear and easy
to read.
6. This is the same as my last image but I
just used a different font for the article.
7. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• I will use bold colours and clear fonts to make the
text stand out and easy to read.
• I will use photos and not have way too much text.
This means that my target audience of 14-25 year
olds won’t get bored reading this.
• I might use a simple but effective layout- e.g a
photo on one page and just bold text on the other.
