ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
2009 - 2012 PhD in Mechanical Engineering, University of Thessaly: “Magnetohydrodynamic
Flow and Heat Transfer in Fusion Reactor Ducts. Flow Transition from Laminar to Turbulent”. Main
research objective: Numerical simulations of transitional flow in toroidal ducts of square section, aiming
to map the transition at wide magnetic fields, explaining how magnetic field affects flow.
2000 - 2001 MSc in Computer Science, University of Manchester. MSc Dissertation: “Systemic
Analysis of Key Variables in Athens Stock Exchange Case Study”. Main research objective: Empirical and
economic analysis of stocks that influenced the performance of the Athens Stock Exchange during the
Greek stock market turbulence of the late 1990s.
1996 - 2001 Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Thessaly. Degree in
Mechanical Engineering, Entrance position: 4th. Degree Dissertation: “Characterization of Cast, Stainless
and Refractory Steels”. Main research objective: Methods of checking the improvement of steels. Casting,
surface graphs - photos by using acid invaders, phase identification, hardness measurements, radiography,
pulling tests. Empirical tests with results of processes are included.
