We will designatenstage migrationthatwill startwithrunningboththe CiscoandHP core switchestogetherthe
witheachstage migratingtrafficovertothe newlyestablishedHPnetwork.Finally,the core infrastructure will be
movedovertothe HP 7506 Chassis.
HighLevel Existing Network
The current networkinplace isa Ciscobasednetwork.The core is a Cisco6513 core chassis switchwith18
networkclosetswhichcontainCisco3750 switchesthatfeedmultiplelocationsthroughoutthe campus.Belowisa
highlydetaileddiagramof the networkandeachindividual closet.

ProposedNetwork
We will designanetworkmirroringthe currentCiscoPlatformona HP Platformforthe proposednetwork.The
newcore of the networkwill be adual HP 7506 core chassisswitchwhichwill replace the Cisco6513 that was
originallybeingused.We willalsobe replacingthe Cisco3750 switchesineachnetworkclosetwithHP2920
switches.The switchfromCiscotoHP wasn’tbasedon anychance infunctionalitythatwill remainclose tothe
same as withwhatwas available withthe Ciscoplatform.

Proposed steps for implementation Migration.
We will designa10 Stage processfor thisMigrationoverto the HP platform.Before anystagesinthe migration
processare startedthere are a fewdaysof pre-stagingthatwill encompassphysicallyinstallingequipmentand
cablinginthe Data Centerandeachnetworkcloset.Afterthe pre-stagingiscompletedwe will be movingonto
the stagersof thismigration.
