I AM DISCOVERING MATERIALS 13TH CYCLE
POLYMERS
2. OUTLINE
• Introduction
• Activity 1: Changing Polymer Pellets
• Activity 2: Hunting for Polymer Products
• Activity 3: Comparing the Viscosity of Liquids
• Activity 4: Testing the Strength of Different
Polymer Films
• Design Project: Designing a Humidity Sensor
• Product Idea
3. ANTRODACTION
•Are the materials that consist of the interconnection olarge number of structural units by
links of the same type. The f a characteristics vary depending on their functions. They
may be binary, which have the ability to bind to two molecules or be triangular or multi-
linked. The word polymers consist of two segments, the first poly and the plural means,
the second mers means the molecules or the binary units. Polymers are made by the
process of polymerization. Polymerization: A chemical union of two molecules or more of
one or more substances with a simple molecular structure to form a compound whose
molecular mass is large and different in its physical and chemical properties from its
constituent compounds Most polymers are organic (ie based on a carbon chain) but there
are also inorganic polymers with chains based on silicon origin.

4. ACTIVITIES 1: CHANGING POLYMER PELLETS
The experiment was about how the
plimmer interfered with the salty and
fresh water
5. ACTIVITIES 1: CHANGING POLYMER PELLETS
The results were that the plimers were
stretched in fresh water and shrunk in brine
6. ACTIVITIES 2: HUNTING FOR POLYMER PRODUCTS
•Objective: To recognize the wide use of
polymers in our everyday lives and to
observe some properties of polymers .
•Procedure
•Search online
7. ACTIVITIES 2: HUNTING FOR POLYMER PRODUCTS
The results were that there are two types of natural
first palimos such as cotton and the second
industrial, such as plastic and others
8. ACTIVITIES 3: COMPARING THE VISCOSITY OF LIQUIDS
•Objective: to understand the meaning of
viscosity and explore the effect of
polymer molecular weight and
concentration on the viscosity of polymer
solutions.
•Procedure
9. ACTIVITIES 3: COMPARING THE VISCOSITY OF LIQUIDS
The result was that whenever the
Blimmer series was more to his
wives than if it was short
10. ACTIVITIES 4: TESTING THE STRENGTH OF DIFFERENT
POLYMER FILMS
•Objective: Testing and Comparing the
stretchability and tensile strength of
polymer
11. ACTIVITIES 4: TESTING THE STRENGTH OF DIFFERENT
POLYMER FILMS
It was argued that the greater the density of the
solution used in the film the less its ability to
expand or if the intensity of the solution
reduced the ability of the film to expand
12. DESIGN PROJECT DESIGNING A HUMIDITY SENSOR
•Objective: Design a humidity sensor
made of a polymer film that changes
color as the moisture level in its
environment changes.
13. DESIGN PROJECT DESIGNING A HUMIDITY SENSOR
The results were cataly changes the
sensitive color from blue to pink when
there is moisture and vice versa
14. USE A HUMIDITY SENSOR IN FIRE
DRESSINGSIN
Our project is one of the strongest projects so that it helps our Qatari community in
particular and the world in general so that it helps to know when the patient
needs to change the bandage and also that the burns are more than what is
difficult to treat water with him
Our invention is one of the things that will change the field of medicine tools, rather
than its economic use, so that Qatar will be the first to implement this idea.
15. USE A HUMIDITY SENSOR IN FIRE DRESSINGSIN
HYPOTHESIS: (الفرضية)
The hypothesis was that if the sensitive to its
moisture would change color from blue to
pink so that the doctor knows when to
change it
After
exposure to
water vapor
16. USE A HUMIDITY SENSOR IN FIRE DRESSINGSIN
METHODS AND MATERIALS
1-bandage
Water-)2-Humidity Sensor
(Polymers kit 2000mw
17. USE A HUMIDITY SENSOR IN FIRE
DRESSINGSIN
RESULTS: (النتائج)
The results were a change in the color of the
sensor with the water entering, which led to
the knowledge of when we need the change
of dressings
18. USE A HUMIDITY SENSOR IN FIRE DRESSINGSIN
RECOMMENDATIONS
•In conclusion, I would like to draw attention
to the importance of applying our project so
that it makes it transfer quality in the field of
medicine tools
•Patients will be able to find out when they
need to change the bandage without the
doctor's permanent reference
19. CONCLUSIONS
(OVERALL OF THE POLEMERS)
In conclusion, we would like to
thank Al Bayraq Group for
helping us implement the project
and Qatar University. We hope
that this research will be useful
to this beloved country, which is
Qatar.
20. ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Many thanks to my teachers, school and AL-Bairaq team from
Center for Advanced Materials (CAM), Qatar University for
supporting us during our journey with a AL-Bairaq.
Also, I would like to thank the sponsors UNESCO, Qatar National
Commission,and Shell.
