Irish born, British figurative painter. His abstracted figures typiccly appear isolared in glass or steel
cages ses against flat backgrounds. From the mid 1960’s he mainly made portrait heads of friends.
This is an abstract painting, Francis has made the person in
this drawing look like he is being tortured, the dark colours of purple and black captures the dark
side of the image.My personal opinion about this painting is that it is a well captured especially wen
showing off the mental state of the subject.

state of the subject well with the way its expression and placement of the head, as to look like the
character is screaming out. My personal opinion on the drawing is that yet again it a very dark and
emotional drawing.
2. Gustav Klimt
He was an Austrian symbolist painter, he is known for his paintings, murals and sketches, which
focused on the female body, giving a signature of eroticism.
This is an abstract painting, the artist has capture the female
body using a variation of drawn eyes, possibly to symbolise the vainness of women. My personal
opinion of this is that it is a well done abstract painting.

3. Picasso
was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer who spent most of his
adult life in France. As one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, he is
widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture.
It is an abstract painting; I think the mood is a happy one, with
the colours he has chosen. My own personal opinion is that, I think it is a weird way to show a
woman with a flower.

4. Eric Zener
Eric Zener is an American photorealist artist best known for figure paintings of lone subjects, often in
or about swimming pools. His paintings, mostly in oil, are in a photorealist or "super-realist" style
Zener describes as "Contemporary Renaissance.
It is a realistic painting;the picture gives off a
calming mood with the colour and expression of the two subjects. I think this painting is very realistic
and looks amazing.
This is a realistic painting, all of zener’s paintings are
taking by or in a swimming pool so all of his work gives off a calming mood. I think the picture is
good, although the bubbles gradient seems a little be hard to capture.
5. Jason deCaires Taylor
Jason deCaires Taylor is an English sculptor specialising in the creation of contemporary underwater
sculptures which over time develop into artificial coral reefs.
This is a contemporary art, the artist has captured
the detail of a house well with this sculpture. My opinion of this work is that it is well detailed and a
very creative way to make art.
This is contemporary art;the artist has captured the
mood of security by the statues holding their hands together. My personal opinion on this piece is
that it is very dramatic piece.
6. Jacques-Louis David
Jacques-Louis David was an influential French painter in the Neoclassical style, considered to be the
preeminent painter of the era.
This is a realistic painting, the artist has captured the
vibrant intensity of the scene with the deep red of the clothes if the men along with then weeping
women on the side. My personal opinion about this painting is that it’s a great image ofcapturing the
scene. Well detailed.

the mood with the background weather and landscape, showing off the subjectsferocity with a s
begging-of-charge horse.
7. Gustave Courbet
Jean DésiréGustave Courbet was a French painter who led the Realist movement in 19th-century
French painting. The Realist movement bridged the Romantic movement with the Barbizon School
and the Impressionists.
This is realistic portrait, the artist has done
well to capture the topology of the persons face and clothes detail. I personally think this is a very
good picture.

8. Thomas Eakins
Thomas Cowperthwait Eakins was an American realist painter, photographer, sculptor, and fine arts
educator. He is widely acknowledged to be one of the most important artists in American art
history.
This is a realistic painting; the artist has done well with tones to get
the atmosphere of the scene, the background being very dark meaning that is not the main
subject, the ring being very bright meaning that’s the subject in this painting. My opinion on
this image is that it is well done.

the colour variations creating the right gradient for the water colour and sky. My opinion is that
this picture was colours very well creating right tones for different objects.
9. Fabian Perez
Fabian Perez is an artist born in Buenos Aires. He currently resides in Los Angeles and is known for
his paintings of the tango and for his portraits. In 2009 Perez was named the official artist of
the 10th annual Latin Grammy Awards.
This is a realistic painting, the artist has given the sense of
erotica with the body of the woman, wearing a red dress. My personal opinion is that the artist
has captured the skin and dress tones well as well as the shadow to light transition is done
well.
This is a realistic image; the artist has done well to capture the
shape of the man’s clothes. As well the transparency of the glass. My opinion about this
image is that it’s well done, the tones are right and I like how h has drawn the flame of the
match.
10. George Bellows
George Wesley Bellows was an American realist painter, known for his bold depictions of urban life in
New York City, becoming, according to the Columbus Museum of Art, "the most acclaimed
American artist of his generation".
This is an abstract painting; the artist has done well to show
what is going on in the scene with the horse going wild. My opinion about this image is that,
the artist has done well trying to show the buildings on the side and the smoke coming off the
vehicle.
This is a realistic painting, the artist has expressed the
mood of a silent night by the green and black colour tone. I personally like this picture
because of the dark scenery in the background and the one light in the foreground just
producing a green gradient light.
