● Wind power is one of the most promising
sources of renewable energy.
● It generates electricity without emitting
greenhouse gases or other pollutants.
● This presentation will explain how windmills
work and their contribution to our energy
needs.
● We will also discuss the advantages and
challenges of using wind power as a source
of electricity.
Introduction to Wind Power
● Wind power is a clean and sustainable form of renewable energy that
generates electricity by harnessing the power of wind. This has the
potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions and is becoming
increasingly popular.
● Wind turbines are the devices used to capture the kinetic energy of
the wind and convert it into electrical energy. They consist of a rotor,
blades, a nacelle, and a tower, with the rotor and blades responsible
for capturing the wind energy and the nacelle containing the
generator and other components that convert the mechanical energy
into electrical energy.
How Windmills Work
● The blades capture the wind's kinetic energy
and turn a rotor connected to a shaft.
● The shaft drives a generator that produces
electricity.
● Wind turbines can be installed on land or
offshore in areas with high wind speeds.
Advantages of Wind Power
● It is abundant and free, unlike fossil fuels
