Logistics is considered to be the complete process involving planning, managing
and controlling the flow of goods and services, information, real-time data and human
resources from the point of origin to the point of destination. There is hardly any
manufacturing or marketing activity that can be achieved without the support of an
effective logistical department.
The logistics process consists of the process of integration of several aspects such
as material handling, warehousing, information, transportation, packaging and
inventory. The primary duty of an effective logistics system is to ensure geographical
repositioning of unfinished goods, and it is also concerned with the finished inventories
of the organization being at the required place at the lowest possible cost.
Locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plan to expedite
processing of goods, according to pre determined schudels and priorities ,and keeps
related record, reviews production schedules inventory reports ,and work orders to
determine types , quantities, and availability , of required material and priorities of
customer orders, confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue
and to inform them of location , availability and condition of materials , locates and
moves materials to specified production areas using cart or Hand truck, and records
quantity and type of materials diserbuted on hand.
Directing power –Truck operator or Material handling laborer to expedite movement
of materials between storage and production areas , Compare work permit
Specifications with material at work stations to verify appropriateness, of material in
use , prepare worker production records and timecards , and may update and maintain
inventory records , using computer terminal.

2) Follow up for delivering material through phone and Email
3) Arranging material pick –up through shipping agency as per PO term.
4) Arranging quality Inspection at the time of material receipt.
5) Receiving Vendor Invoices & forwarding to finance for payment process.
1. Ensure the availability of materials, components, and products for planned production
and for customer delivery,
2. Maintain the lowest possible level of inventory,
3. Plan manufacturing activities, delivery schedules, and purchasing activities.
MRP is especially suited to manufacturing settings where the demand of many of the
components and subassemblies depend on the demands of items that face external
demands. Demand for end items are independent. In contrast, demand for components
used to manufacture end items depend on the demands for the end items. The
distinctions between independent and dependent demands are important in classifying
inventory items and in developing systems to manage items within each demand
classification. MRP systems were developed to cope better with dependent demand
items.
The three major inputs of an MRP system are, The master production schedule, The
product structure records, and the inventory status records.
Without these basic inputs the MRP system cannot function. The demand for end items
is scheduled over a number of time periods and recorded on a master production
schedule (MPS). The master production schedule expresses how much of each item is
wanted and when it is wanted.
The product structure records, also known as bill of material records (BOM), contain
information on every item or assembly required to produce end items. Information on
each item, such as part number, description, quantity per assembly, next higher
assembly, lead times, and quantity per end item, must be available.
The inventory status records contain the status of all items in inventory, including on
hand inventory and scheduled receipts. These records must be kept up to date, with
each receipt, disbursement, or withdrawal documented to maintain record integrity.
MRP will determine from the master production schedule and the product structure
records the gross component requirements.
Ensure effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals
inclusive of Shipping functions and Inventory management.
Support inventory management consisting of reconciling and maintaining of finished
goods inventory by sku along with lot date at warehouse locations.
Oversee and monitor availability of stock to reduce shortages, Negotiate and support
logistics costs meant for 3rd party logistics providers assisting yearly budget goals.
Plan and arrange logistics required shipments, Support simplification and
standardization of processes to accelerate logistics and enhance efficiencies
Assist audits of vendor invoices and month-end processing to incorporate finance
accruals, Head team to develop, articulate and maintain logistic process documentation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Supporting the Materials Controller to ensure all maintenance materials with
warehouse and external storage areas are correctly controlled.

issue .
 Promptly inform Planning Team and end user if materials are not available for
scheduled maintenance.
 Updating teams on the delivery status of outstanding requirements.
 Maintain all electronic correspondence and documentation in a generic filing
system as provided by Materials Superintendent.
 Arrange movement of materials between warehouse and sites.
 Resolve any queries arising from identification of materials, spares and
equipment.
 Design and maintain stores layout and storage of material within the
premises/laydown areas provided by client.
 Maintenance of items that require special storage facilities and ensuring they are
inspected regularly so they are not damaged due to climate or environment

 Maintain agreed min/max stock levels for tools, consumables and PPE, hold
consumable stock on a separate register and make agreed items available to
operations and minor consumables for out of hours maintenance.
 Focal point for material/equipment returned from site facilities and liaison with the
warehouse.
 Ensure the security of warehouse and external storage areas prevention,
reporting loss of stock immediately.
 Maintain a strict control of mechanical handling equipment such as forklifts and
overhead crane when operatin g within the warehouse or external storage areas.
 Attend a weekly procurement review meeting

Plan manufacturing activities, delivery schedules, and purchasing activities. MRP is especially suited to manufacturing settings where the demand of many of the components and subassemblies depend on the demands of items that face external demands. Demand for end items are independent. In contrast, demand for components used to manufacture end items depend on the demands for the end items. The distinctions between independent and dependent demands are important in classifying inventory items and in developing systems to manage items within each demand classification. MRP systems were developed to cope better with dependent demand items. The three major inputs of an MRP system are, The master production schedule, The product structure records, and the inventory status records.
  • 3. Without these basic inputs the MRP system cannot function. The demand for end items is scheduled over a number of time periods and recorded on a master production schedule (MPS). The master production schedule expresses how much of each item is wanted and when it is wanted. The product structure records, also known as bill of material records (BOM), contain information on every item or assembly required to produce end items. Information on each item, such as part number, description, quantity per assembly, next higher assembly, lead times, and quantity per end item, must be available. The inventory status records contain the status of all items in inventory, including on hand inventory and scheduled receipts. These records must be kept up to date, with each receipt, disbursement, or withdrawal documented to maintain record integrity. MRP will determine from the master production schedule and the product structure records the gross component requirements. Ensure effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals inclusive of Shipping functions and Inventory management.
