Helllo and welcome to my presntation about the implications of changes made to 14-19years old national curriculum.
Today I will be talking about a number of topics and sharing my understanding of each in addition to stating as to why I should be one of your chosen candidates for the PGCE course. Please feel free to ask any questions during or after my presentation.
I would like to now introduce myself firstly my name is Aisha Rehman and I am 22 years old. I have recently finished my studies at MMU and would like to carry onto further education. It is an inspiration of mine to become a teacher in the field to which I feel strongly about, as I have completed my studies in BA hons course in Information and Communications and would like to peruse further. I will be disusing various of topic with regards to the education curriculum and how it had reformed with the new changes.
I would like to begin by talking about the Moving up day, this day has made its mark in the national history of education through out the Uk. This day showed the how the implications of changes influenced the national curriculum, as on this day the Skills Act was released on the 8 th December 2009. This act was put in to place so that continuation of study was embedded in schools through out and was seen as a celebration as it showed This requirement of younger people to stay in either education training until the age of 18years old by 2015 was successful. QAS was is another framework that has been implemented throughout the schools. This has been published on the 31 st March of this year. This was designed to clarify roles and responsibilities of providers of post 16 in education. Ensuring that the learning programmes created for the younger people and adults are up to high standards and are actually doing the job they are set out to do. this is can be seen by the changes that are made to learning system which took place on the 1 st April 2010. The YASF::: this shows greater implications as to how change has evolved with the curriculum today and it shows greater difference to the performance of the younger population who are studying. The stats reveal as 87.7% aged 19 who now are qualified to at least level 2 51.4% have progressed onto level 3 in their studies Further more the number for free school meals has also decreased in demand from the younger population and their peers. As a whole it can now be said the national curriculum is now on target in terms of their performance, and that students are reaching their full potential.
1.Helps top encourage students to think further and fulfil their metal capability by broadening their existing skills. The national curriculum is looking to develop both employability and their study skills, as this is the factors that employers n HE partners look out for. This is carried through the basic skills of Mathematics, English and ICT 2.This offers extra help for those individuals who are struggling e.g. extra classes. Catching up on work flexible framework for teachers to work: giving opportunities to tailor individuals needs e.g. practical Vs theory. More consistency between taught subjects done by providing transitional material to ensure progress to key stage 4 and beyond is possible. Less prescribed factual based content given to teachers now enabling them to teach their students to hw they feel would meet their student requirements ,they will do what they feel will benefit their students, i.e. handouts. 3.Diplomoa is the new qualification In school and college and its carried out over the two year period. Carrying out a Diploma propose a number of elements such as : Opening up broaden horizons for the younger people Student are able to gain practical experience through WE and projects It enable the student to seek further information in relation to the area of interest App is a vocational training getting the apprentice to develop their skills and qualifications on the job. 4. The purpose of this to implement theory work into practical. Some can be visually aided, where as some individuals may require further assistance to perform to the best of their ability Rhetorical questions arise: “ are you delivering the proposed objectives And getting the desired results” 5.
I would like to be considered for a place within your university for the PGCE this coming September. I am a hard working individual who is fully dedicated to the given tasks at hand. I am also organised person as this can be seen through my studies at university. Being a student has disciplined me well as now I am confident when it comes to meeting deadlines and attending lectures/seminor. I have a smart appearance and work well under pressure, communication with others is something that I enjoy. In addition to I am always looking for challenges, and am fully aware that taking up there role of teacher with a secondary will not be an easy ride, if anything it is a challenge with in itself. I would like to be taken upon this opportunity and prove what my capabilities are. I enjoy being the company of younger children and like making a difference to people's lives.
