EXPERIENCES
Ain Shams University Maternity hospital: Associate Professor of
Obstetrics and Gynecology (May 2013 till now).
Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital: Lecturer of Obstetrics &
Gynecology (June 2006 April 2013). During last years after being a
lecturer of obstetrics and gynecology, being the senior staff supervising
casualty, I got a very good experience in dealing with critical and
deteriorated cases of postpartum hemorrhage and those with post-partum
collapse. I performed a reasonable number of supravaginal
hysterectomies for patients presented by severe postpartum hemorrhage
not responding to other conservative measures. I performed many cases of
internal iliac artery ligation and ureteric exploration. I got experience in
bladder repair and ureteric stenting.
In gynecology, I added to my previous experience in laparoscopy by
performing many cases of laparoscopic salpingectomy for ectopic pregnancies,
laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, laparoscopic assisted vaginal
hysterectomies and diagnostic laparoscopies.
I performed much more cases of hysterectomies either vaginal or abdominal,
sacrospinous fixation for vault prolapse, myomectomies and tension-free
vaginal tape for stress urinary incontinence.
Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital: Assistant Lecturer of Obstetrics
& Gynecology (September 2001-June 2006).
Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital: Resident of Obstetrics &
Gynecology (May 1998-May 2001). As a registrar, I dealt with medical
disorders of pregnancy as well as management of most of the obstetrics
emergencies. I gained some experience in basic ultrasound scanning and
have attended training courses in it. I have been involved in decisions-
making in consultation with my senior colleagues. I had the opportunity to
perform surgical procedure unsupervised. I learned various surgical skills as

4. Cesarean sections, operative and instrumental vaginal deliveries, vaginal
breech deliveries and I dealt with many complicated cases such as rupture
uteri. I also performed a reasonable number of suction evacuation, vaginal
repairs, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, diagnostic hysteroscopies,
diagnostic and operative laparoscopies.
I gained experience in assisted conception techniques such as intra-uterine
insemination and oocyte retrieval and management of induction of ovulation
protocols.
Ain Shams University Hospital: House Officer (March 1997-March 1998). It
was in the form of two-month rotations in the departments of General
Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and
Orthopedics. This year gave me a very good experience as a general
practitioner and the basic skills to manage any medical or surgical
emergencies and the chance to choose my future career and specialization.
As a house officer I have gained experience in antenatal and postnatal care. I
used to do daily gynecological and obstetrical ward rounds covering the
inpatient care. I was trained to conduct normal abnormal deliveries.
Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital is the largest university maternity
hospital in Egypt. It has 200 inpatient beds, a busy labor ward (almost 18,000
deliveries yearly) and daily general gynecologic operative lists as well as weekly
short stay and minimal access gynecologic surgeries. It also provides both
inpatient and outpatient subspecialty services as colposcopy, prenatal diagnosis,
high risk pregnancy management, assisted conception, urogynecology and
oncology.

training by the Saudi council of health specialties and for Arab board, MRCOG and
FCPS part II examinations.

King Salman Armed Forces Hospital, Northwest Region, Tabuk, KSA,

now). Since I joined the King Salman Hospital ,I got involved in IVF center and
I got excellent experience related to patients preparation for assisted
reproduction cycles , ovum pick up, embryo transfer and management of
induction protocols and related complications. We have about 350 IVF/ICSI ,
800 IUI cycles and thousands cycles of ovulation induction in Prince Fahad
Ibn Sultan infertility and IVF center yearly. I am also sharing actively in
medical education and departmental academic activities.

teaching of the student midwives during my labor ward sessions. I have led some

hospital.
