10. Visiting Matera
Our little trip to Matera didn’t really turned at as great as we
expected. The weather was bad, it was raining and it became
colder than the other days. The original plan was to sightsee
around the city, but in the end we only visited a library, which had
a lot of old books and valuable things. We spend a few hours
there, and after that we went to a restaurant to have dinner.
17. Wednesday: visiting other schools,
team building games
We visited two other schools here in Marconia. In the first school
we visited, everyone was very kind. They smiled a lot, tried to talk
to us even though they didn’t really know how to speak english.
When we entered the eight grade, everyone got very hyped. They
behaved like we were some sort of celebrities, they even wanted
to take photos with us. In the next school, we played games with
the kids who go there. They were very friendly, we enjoyed the
games a lot, we had a lot of fun.
23. Mural painting
The painting was a good exercise, because we enjoyed it a lot. We
worked together with the kids from Cyprus. We had the chance to live out
our creativity, and it was very fun. We think we did a good job, it turned
out pretty well. Everybody complimented on it, it felt very good to hear
them. First, we taught it will turn out horrible, but as we continued to work
on it, it seemed to get better and better. In the end, even the bad parts
made a pretty picture together. We mixed different colours of paints
together, to make a more unique upshot. We could only paint one half of
the wall, because the other kids worked on the other half. In the end, the
finished arts melted together, because of the similar colours and very
similar edifices. In our opinions it looked better this way, it looked much
more interesting.

25. UNICEF video
The video hit us hard, because it is a sad thing that not every
children has the ability to get educated. The speech was very
put together, the things the girl said was very true and clever.
Our favourite quote was: “Why is it easy to give guns, and so
hard to give books?” In our opinions it was a very clever and
understandable sentence, because if you think about it it’s
very true. Guns are a lot more expensive and needless, it
only makes violence. With books, you can teach yourself, be
in your own little world, and it calms you down, so with books
and learning we can take small little steps towards peace.
26. Bari
We arrived to the new flat at Friday
before noon. We stayed there for 2
days. At Saturday we went to the
Adriai sea. We took a lot a pictures,
and we bought souvenirs.
At the first day we did a performance about our traditional dance in costumes. We were a little afraid, but we had a huge success, everyone liked our dance and singing. They joined us, and we had a lot of fun together.
