III. Procedure:
I. Introduction:
a. Singing an action song.
The teacher will say, “Good morning children! Today we are going to sing an action
song entitled “The Singing Walrus”. I want everybody to stand up and sing with me.”
b. Motivation:
The teacher will ask, “What are the actions that you do while singing the song?”
(Expected answer: We clap our hands, swing our arms, sing, dance, jump around,
touch the sky and the ground, shake your hips, stomp your feet. Using this structure:
We _______________. )
Tell pupils to act out their answer. Teacher will write the answers on the board.
2. II. Teaching/Modelling: ( I Do It)
The teacher will say, “Here is a list of action words. Listen as I read the word
and act out the action for you. Then you will do it, too.”

III. Guided Practice: (We Do It)
1. Play Charade:
Teacher will throw a ball to the one who will act out the action written on the flashcard
taken from the box. Chosen pupil will act out the word. Other pupils will guess the action word.
The first one who guessed the word correctly wins.
2. Group Practice:
Say, “Now, we are going to have a group activity. I’m going to read a story for you
about Mary and Martha while you follow silently. You will encircle the action words used in the story
afterwards.
Wipes the table. Sweeps the floor.

Mary and Martha on Duty
Mary and Martha are on class duty today. Marysweeps the floor.
She throws all the garbage into the trash can. Martha wipes the desks.
She wipes the blackboardclean. The two girls neatly arrange all the
desks and chairs. The classroomis now clean and tidy. Mary and
Martha are very happy and proud of themselves.
3. After the group activity the teacher asks,
“Who are the characters in the story?”
“What are their duties inside the classroom?” (Use the structure: They_______.)
“How do you call the words that tell you to do something?”
(Expected Answer: We call them action words.)
Valuing:
