Introduction to Campus Solutions

PeopleSoft Enterprise campus solutions is the most adaptable solution serving all sizes and types of institutions including small, private universities, community colleges, research institutions, and large, public, multi-campus systems.

PeopleSoft Enterprise campus solutions is the world's leading student system and alumni development solution for higher education and is being used at over 800 campuses in more than 20 countries.

PeopleSoft Enterprise campus solutions is the only administrative suite available today that provides students, alumni, faculty, and staff with immediate access to real-time information and connects that information to specific action.
The Academic Structure is….

Defines how the Institution is going to operate. We look at the departments, the schools, the colleges, the campuses and try to put them together in a meaningful way that not reflects how we do business on campus but also helps us to automate processes and define reporting in a way that is meaningful and correct.

Here now is an example of Undergraduate Chemistry Major with a minor in BioChemistry.

Academic Career: Is how we break out what the student is doing at the uni. Drives the statistics of the student. If the student is studying as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, the stats are packaged as undergrad. If the student is here for a Masters or PHd, the stats are packaged as graduate. So you have two GPSs. You have your 3.94 as an undergrad and your 3.0 as a grad.

Academic Groups: This is how we represent the academic colleges, in the system. We use academic groups to track which college owns which academic program.

Academic Org: Represents the actual department functions of the university. Arts and sciences are represented as different levels…it is group because it is a college but it also is an organization because of its unique administrative and financial characteristics.

Academic Programs: part of the student component… what the student applies to and graduates from….tied to academic groups……

Academic Plan….I could say that the easiest equivalent major….but it is actually more than that. The plan ties to the program. So if I am an Arts and Science student, I have access to all the Plans under Arts and Science Program. It is also tied to the Academic Career. It has to be tied to the Program or the career or not both. But for things like minors…a college can offer a minor to anyone as long as they do the work. So what we do we tie it to undergraduate career…so a student from any college (Education, for example) can get this minor associated to their record if they accomplish the work.

Academic Sub-Plan….Minors that are tied to a major. You must be tied to the Plan for this sub-plan. History…..specialization…WWII battles…Attack of Pearl Harbor. I must be a WWII history student to get into the sub-plan of Attack of Pearl Harbor.

Campus Community

Individuals and organizations are the foundation of PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions. You use Campus Community to create the records for the individuals and organizations that comprise your institution's community. After you create the records, use Campus Community to continue to update, maintain, and track information about the individuals and organizations associated with your institution.

Campus Community enables you to maintain and manage a wide range of basic information about people and organizations of interest to the institution. Each application within Campus Solutions relies on this data which includes an individual's or organization's name, address, and system ID.
Campus Community

Individuals and organizations are the foundation of PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions. You use Campus Community to create the records for the individuals and organizations that comprise your institution's community. After you create the records, use Campus Community to continue to update, maintain, and track information about the individuals and organizations associated with your institution.

Campus Community enables you to maintain and manage a wide range of basic information about people and organizations of interest to the institution. Each application within Campus Solutions relies on this data which includes an individual's or organization's name, address, and system ID.
Recruiting & Admissions

Recruiting and Admissions administers the institution's admission process by managing recruiters and tracking prospects and applicants. It supports and automates third-party processing by providing a seamless link to the payment posting process, enabling you to process both split payments, directed payments, or both online.

Campus Self Service

Campus Self Service offers role-based and function-based self-service functionality that enable you to provide users with self-service access to information and transactions over the internet.

You can present the self-service functionality as delivered or modify it to present specific features that your institution wants to make available, offering access to the online transactions that your institution's users need and perform most.

Allowing users to complete transactions by self-service significantly reduces the time that your administrative staff must spend performing many administrative tasks
