The following will provide guidelines for you as an applicant wishing to study at Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College.
Application Process
The standard procedure whether you are applying independently or through an overseas representative is as follows (if you have
submitted your application through an overseas representative all further queries should be addressed to the overseas representative):
Complete an International Application Form. All sections are compulsory
Complete an Applicant Intention Test.
Send copies of qualifications – certificates and transcripts. To include an officially translated copy if this if not in English
Proof of English language proficiency (a UKBA Secure English Language Test (SELT) must be used)
Proof of work experience (if relevant)
References from employers (needed for ILM and MBA courses)
Current CV (needed for ILM and MBA courses)
Copy of passport
Copy of current student and previous student visas (if you are currently in UK)
You should receive our decision in approximately 5 working days
If applying from within the UK, you do not need to wait for your visa to be approved before starting your course at Ealing,
Hammersmith & West London College. You must prove to the International Student Centre that you have applied for your new visa
before enrolling on your course. We will accept a letter of receipt of your visa application from the UKBA or, if you can’t provide this, a
certificate of posting from the Post Office to the UKBA.
Offer Letter
This letter details:
Course name
Type of offer you hold i.e. unconditional or conditional and what the conditions are.
Tuition fee and deposit payment
Living costs – The estimated cost of living in London is £1000 per calendar month.
Accepting your Offer
Once you have met the conditions of your offer letter you MUST complete the AoS forms (AOS 1-5) from the back of the pre-departure
guide and return to the College along with the course fee outlined in your offer letter. Please ensure you read the College refund
policy before making your payment.
Note: You will be asked to provide the International Student Centre with a copy of your bank statement which shows that you held the
required money for a consecutive 28 day period to support your living expenses. This should not include your tuition fees which you
should be paid before a CAS is issued.
Paying your Deposit
You can pay by cash in person (please confirm cashiers’ opening hours), by cheque or bank transfer.
Please make cheques payable to “EHWLC” and send by post to the International Student Centre, address at the bottom of this
sheet.

Receiving your Certificate of Acceptance of Studies (CAS)
Once payment has been received, the College will produce a CAS for you (a CAS is only applicable to students coming on a Tier 4
student visa). The following steps explain the process:
1: CAS produced by the College and sent to student (either directly or via overseas representative): The CAS will include:
Your name / Passport number / Your student number / you have been accepted onto the course / course details / the total tuition fees
/ the tuition fees for first year / the tuition fees paid / the qualifications used to accept you onto the course (original
certificates/transcripts must be submitted for visa application).
2: Student to check CAS and confirm details with College: You will be sent a copy of the CAS so that you can verify the details and
check that everything is correct before the College officially submit it to UK Border Agency. If you notice an error in your CAS you
MUST inform the College/ overseas representative immediately so that changes can be made.
3: College generate an official CAS and send to student: Once you have confirmed that the details on the CAS are correct your official
CAS number will be generated and you will be sent your official CAS statement. Once you have received this you be able to submit
your visa application.
Note: CAS can be used only once to apply for a Tier 4 visa. If your visa is refused you must send a copy of the refusal document to the
International Centre. If your visa is refused and you decide to re-apply, before we can issue a new CAS we will ask you to provide the
ISC with a copy of your bank statement which shows that you have held the required money for a consecutive 28 day period (finishing
on the date of the closing balance) ending no more than 1 month before your application. Please refer to the Tier 4 policy guidance
available online at: www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk
Visa Regulations – Points Based System
You will need to obtain entry clearance from the UK immigration authorities in your country for permission to come to the UK to study.
Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College is a Highly Trusted Sponsor on the Tier 4 register of sponsors.
In order to get permission you will need to provide:

Original qualifications as listed on your CAS statement
If you are over 18 years old the course you are doing is at a high enough level.
Strict financial requirements
Biometric information
If you are 16/17 years of age you will be required to submit a letter to UKBA confirming your parents consent to your
independent travel and living in the UK.
Tier 4 Student Visa
Your student visa allows you to:
commence your studies at Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College (no changes allowed)
you cannot defer or withdraw from the prescribed programme of study
work part-time during term time up to 10 hours a week. You may work full-time during the College holidays and while on a
work placement (part of your course).
Refunds
Refunds are made only in exceptional circumstances and upon payment of an administration fee. Please refer to the offer letter and
our refund policy (Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College website) for detailed information. Refund applications for reasons
other than student visa refusals will not be considered. The College reserves the right to retain the whole deposit amount.
You will not receive a refund if your visa is approved and you arrive in the UK and do not enrol at Ealing, Hammersmith & West London
College.
The College is obliged to inform the UK Border Agency in case of any breach of the rules and students may not be allowed to: change
institutions, change courses/ programme of study, defer studies, default required attendance.
