25. BRING YOUR FAMILY
• According to Swiss regulations, you cannot bring your family
to Switzerland based on your study visa, except if you hold a
confederation grant, if you are a doctoral student or if you
are a postdoctoral researcher.
26. HEALTH INSURANCE
• Health insurance is compulsory for all students
intending to stay in Switzerland for more than three
months
• International students can either pay for a health
insurance policy from their home country before
they come to Switzerland or can purchase one as
soon as possible after their arrival.
27. WORK PERMIT
International Students face tighter restrictions with
only a highly qualified few eligible for work permits
while others are subject to a 6 month waiting period.
Students are permitted to work for up to 15 hours
per week
