2. We are a small local branch of the National Trust that is conracted by the county of Surrey. We are responsible for informing the local residents on how to reduce the effects of climate change. From reading the brief and doing external research, we have extracted aims on how to sustain the decrease the affects of climate change within the Surrey area. Our main priority is to introduce solar panals within the Surrey community. As well as this we aim to educate the residents of Surrey on climate change and how to consume less energy and promote a cleaner environment. Climate change is an ongoing problem that is affecting our planet and is something that needs to be solved before is too late. Climate change can be limited to a specific region and can affect the rest of the world. This is why we as an organisation are dedicated to reduce issues that affect climate change. The building blocks on reducing climate change on a regional scale will include breathing fresher air, enjoying the greener environment and consuming less fuels and resources. By these tasks being carried out, this can help us reach our goals with our win-win strategy. Introduction Why Climate change is a problem? How it can be resolved?
3. Our main aim is to introduce solar energy to households within the Surrey area. The way we intend to do this is by informing the residents about the benefits of solar energy and selecting households who wish to participate in the scheme. We would then lease thin film solar panals and demonstrate the advantages of using solar energy. We would also like to educate the members of Surrey of other ways of how to reduce energy by the following aims and objectives: 1. Consuming less fuels and resources 2.1. Remember to fully turn off appliances if not in use and not leave them on standby mode 2.2. Turn of Central Heating when not in use and remember to check that the heating timer is not left running while there is no one in the house. 2.3. When using the washing machine, always put in a full load of clothes to save water and electricity. 2. Meet targets on how to use renewable energy 3.1. Where products can be recycled, make use of facilities provided by the local council 3.2. Where water is safe to drink from a tap, make use of this rather than buying bottled water 3.3. Use Biodegradable products such as plastics as these products decompose quicker and are better for the environment. 3. Reducing carbon emissions and promoting fresh air 1.1. By locals using local transport and reducing carbon emissions by not using personal vehicles. 1.2. If possible walk to your destination or cycle rather than taking your own car 1.3. When replacing a car, try and get a car that releases less CO2 emissions such as hybrid cars or cars that are Bio-diesel. Aims and Objectives
4. 4. To help ensure that the county of Surrey is prepared for climate change 4.1.
