16. Reflections
Question #1: Before doing this assignment, what did
you know about the types of jobs that existed in your
field of interest?
I knew quite a bit about the teacher career, such as all the
responsibilities. However, I did not know the degree needed or
any of the other technical things.
I knew absolutely nothing about a career in illustration prior to
this project.
17. Question #3: Has doing this project changed your mind
about your interests in a particular field of study or type
of career? If so, how? If not, how did this project help
solidify your thinking about your interests in a particular
field of study or type of career.
This project helped me realize that illustration is really something
that I will continue to look into and possibly want to pursue.
It has also helped me realize how much responsibility and stress
is involved in a teaching job, and that I may not be as excited
about teaching as I had originally thought.
18. Question #7: What challenges did you encounter
through the completion of this project? What went
well? What would you have done differently were you
to do this again? What additional resources or supports
might be helpful in the future?
I think time management was a big hurdle for me, and generally
just the overwhelming amount of information that I had to find and
organize.
Finding the information was fairly easy once I got started, and
creating the presentation went really well.
If I were to do this again, I would have started earlier and broken it
down into smaller section so as to make it seem not so
overwhelming.
I think all my resources were very helpful, but personally I found that
people that actually practice the career really help you get a
better feel for the drawbacks and benefits of a career.
