2. MILESTONE PROJECTS
Deep Web Crawler
Developed a web crawler for the TOR anonymity network to allow companies to automate
scalable searches on the deep web for any potential data leak that is not indexed or discoverable
through normal search engines on the shallow web. Python was chosen as the development
platform because python provides a workable framework for web crawling through the use of the
Beautiful Soup and socket modules. The customer will implement the product in their security
framework to ensure the protection of their clients.
Network Infrastructure Security
Developed a virtual network security infrastructure to monitor other virtual systems to detect any
intrusions. With the usage of tools such as NetFlow and IBM’s Qradar, the infrastructure
monitored basic network usage to determine if any anomalies were present, possibly indicating
the presence of an intruder. The usage of the Bro tool allowed for a deeper inspection of the
network traffic. Bro also allowed for possibly malicious traffic, determined by Bro scripts, to be
blocked.
