“Whole Building Performance Analysis to Find Energy Conservation Measures for
Existing Building in Pune City India”
Overview:
 Energy modeling of an existing building in eQuest and EnergyPlus (SketchUp and
OpenStudio plugin)
 The dissertation works deals with finding energy conservation measures using
whole building performance analysis.
 To validate the results from computer simulation, actual data like wall
temperature, relative humidity, etc is also gathered using electronic data logger.
And the simulation results are compared with the recorded data.
 Optimum WWR, insulation values, orientation of the building is found by
performing multiple parametric runs in simulation.
 It is found that 18% of annual energy savings is possible without affecting the
thermal comfort.
B. E. PROJECT
“Two speed gearbox for remotely operated mobile platform”
Overview:
 To Design and manufacture a gearbox for DRDO, Research & Development
Establishment (Engineers), Dighi, Pune.
 Principle & method of project:- To design a simple constant mesh two speed
gearbox with mechanism for remote gear changing.
 Gear box was designed for working torque of 80Nm for 1st
gear and 20 Nm for 2nd
gear.
 Main challenge for this project was to devise a mechanism to move a dog clutch
between the gears with the stepper motor. So as to change to gears remotely.
 All the design parameters of the gearbox like casing thickness, gear thickness, gear
module, selection of bearing, design of the shafts, etc. were calculated from the

3. scratch, with the help from Dr. M.K.Pathak (Sci.- D) of the R&DE, deghi. And Prof.
D.P.Yesane of MMIT, pune.
