AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE
Human being, by birth is enterprising in nature, in different aspects of life. He /
She exhibits enterprising attitude knowingly or unknowingly in day to day
activities. If this inborn nature and spirit is directed towards creating
commercial ventures, with little bit motivation and proper mentoring, the
economic development t of local area and at the national level will zoom up to
higher levels.
The economic development of a nation is possible only by the process of
entrepreneurship and the practicing entrepreneurs are called the real heroes of
the economy. These entrepreneurs are created by effective education and
training on entrepreneurship. The term Entrepreneurship has become a
buzzword now-a-days in India. The start up ecosystem has taken a new
direction and has been galloping with a great speed for economic development
of the nation. The central government has always been keenly interested in job
creation. In order to boost self-employment among the youth, the government
has introduced many schemes. In January, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
launched Start-up India Action plan to encourage Entrepreneurship and to
facilitate Start-ups. This initiative of the government of India is aimed at
building a strong ecosystem for nurturing innovation and Start-ups in the
country that will facilitate sustainable economic development in the country.
2. Narendra Modiji called upon the youth to start up and stand up for starting new
ventures and he advised the youth to become employers (job providers) instead
of employees (job seekers). The government of India under the dynamic
leadership of Shri Narendra Modiji is also keen to boost entrepreneurship and
has launched the following initiatives.
Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship-2015
Entrepreneurship Development Scheme
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana
Make in India
Start Up India
MUDRA bank
Atal Innovation Mission
Self-Employment Talent Utilization (SETU)
District Level Incubation and Acceleration Programme
Rs. 10,000 crore fund for Venture Capital in MSME sector
The government of Telangana is also striving a lot, to create awareness among
the youth about the entrepreneurship, under the leadership of Sri. K.T. Rama
Rao, minister for Information Technology and Panchayathi Raj.
The “Project INSPIRIT”—An Entrepreneurship Development initiative is a
one-day work shop aimed at creating new generation entrepreneurs in
Telangana. This initiative is especially a motivation development programme
aimed at creating self awareness and self-confidence among the students of
degree, post graduation, engineering, M.B.A etc, to undertake entrepreneurship
as their career. The younger generation is equipped with the required knowledge
and the skills to establish and run the business ventures successfully. This
3. initiative mainly inculcates the entrepreneurial culture among the students in
Telangana state. This work-shop covers a wide range of modules to enable the
participants hone their entrepreneurial skills.
NEED FOR THE INITIATIVE-- “PROJECTINSPIRIT”
The director of this initiative “PROJECT INSPIRIT” being an academician in
the field of Business Education and trainer in the field of Entrepreneurship, has
been witnessing the poor status of Entrepreneurship Education and Training in
Telangana state , especially in semi urban and rural areas. The director, having
closely seen the quality of education in undergraduate and post graduate
colleges in rural areas in Telangana, would like build a model for
entrepreneurship education and training in rural areas, keeping the following
imperatives in the mind.
The Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (E.D.Ps) in the rural
areas have not been able to yield the desired results in creating awareness
on entrepreneurship and imparting the right skills required for
entrepreneurship among the rural youth in India.
The Entrepreneurship Development Programmes have been ineffective in
rural areas and they failed to create entrepreneurs in rural areas
The Entrepreneurship education and training in rural areas in India is just
confined to delivery of lectures and supply of printed notes and
distribution of coursecompletion certificates.
The Entrepreneurship development Programmes in rural areas in India
are unable to raise the intention levels among rural youth to establish
enterprises, making use of rural resources.
There exists a huge gap between the govt. policies on Entrepreneurship
and the requirements of the rural youth in terms of awareness and
intentions to start enterprises in the field of entrepreneurship.
4. There is a serious lack of motivation among rural youth to make
entrepreneurship as a career option. Majority of the Entrepreneurship
Development Programmes in rural areas are focusing on delivery of
theoretical content on entrepreneurship and timely completion of course,
but not on motivating the younger generation to start entrepreneurship.
OBJECTIVESOF THE INITIATIVE
The main aim of this initiative –INSPIRIT is to create awareness about the
significance of entrepreneurship among the youth in Telangana.

this proposed initiative.
EXPECTED IMPACT AT THE FIELD LEVEL
The proposed initiative Project INSPIRIT is aimed at achieving the following
impact
Benefitto the youth
The workshops conducted will create awareness on entrepreneurship among the
undergraduate students in rural areas in Telangana state. The rural youth will
get to know the importance of entrepreneurship in the present day competitive
and highly dynamic society. They will find the direction towards honing their
skills on entrepreneurship. It is expected that the mindset of the rural youth will
be changed from job seeking attitude to job creating attitude. They will start
thinking in terms of acquiring knowledge instead of marks and percentages,
which is prevalent in almost all parts of the country. The youth, specially,
undergraduate students will be motivated to take up entrepreneurship, which of
course would change the life styles of the rural people, if practiced positively
and successfully.
Benefit to the rural unemployment
Since this initiative focuses much on enterprise formation and job creation, it
will help reduce unemployment in rural areas in the long run. The rural youth
who wonder aimlessly after completing their studies and who resort to unlawful
activities such as—alcoholism, extremism etc will be engaged seriously in
business activities, thus reducing the problem of unrest among rural youth.
Benefit to regionaldevelopment
8. The impact of this proposed initiative on region development is substantial.
When the youth transform into first generation entrepreneurs, the local
resources would be utilized properly to contribute in the economic development
of the regions. The newly emerged entrepreneurs will even help in mitigating
social evils such as—casteism, superstitions, dowry demand, domestic violence,
drug peddling etc. The positive traits such as—rational thinking, work culture
and time management among the youth will be enhanced leading to the holistic
development of the regions in the Telangana.
