The Stratus™ units utilize three electromagnetic
brakes for precise and reliable positioning.
Modular’s Brake only has one moving part insuring
long life and solid reliability. That moving part, the
rotor, is held in place by a permanent magnetic
circuit that only requires normal power to release,
reducing energy requirements and again extending
the life of the system. Each of the three joints in the
Stratus can be independently moved or in any
combination at any time for exact positioning of the
service module depending on the desired clinical
configuration.
