: Language planning in an institution is a behicle to achieve the effective usage of the medium of instruction. This study assessed the language policyand the role of Filipino and English as medium instruction of Cebu Normal University. It assessed the following objectives: the knowledge of the teachers, administrators, stakeholders and students; how ready they are to do the language planning; status of the medium of instruction; and status of the implementation of the language policy. The study anchored the theory of language planning by Baldauf (2006) at Kaplan at Baldauf (2006) and used qualitative method and purposive random sampling to choose the respondents. Basedon the data gathered, the findings of the study shows that the teachers, administrators, stakeholders and students have the knowledge that there is no existence of language policy in the institution and aware of its importance. Furher, since theres no language policy, the respondents disagree that the medium of instruction is used as prescribe and language policy in the institution is well implemented. Therefore, the respondents are aware that there is no language policy in the institution and believe its significance. It recommends that conduct an orientation regarding language planning in school, encourage the Center of Wikang Filipino to initiate the planning and implement the language policy.
