Organisational Eligibility – applications can only be submitted by Higher Education Institutions or by one of the 14 Independent Research Organisations recognised by the AHRC. Individual Eligibility – must be of postdoctoral standing by which we mean already have a PhD or have equivalent research experience
As per slides
Over £50k - application needs to make the case that that level of funding is necessary and constitutes value for money in the context of the exceptional range and significance of the proposal alongside exceptional levels of methodological or theoretical innovation In order to be able to support a wider range of proposals across various disciplines we are looking for the majority of awards to be within the £20k-£40k range. [NOTE – there isnt a lower limit but the JeS restriction is currently set at £20k , Barry is in the process of changing this]
Scheme does not have any restrictions on the number of people involved or any requirements other than it needs a Principal Investigator who meets the eligibility requirements As with any project the key things is having the right people with the right experience doing the right tasks
Grants should be costed in same way as Research Council Research Grant, Grants awards will be made at 80% Full Economic Cost
This is the latest end date for grants but is not a requirement projects can finish early than this. Within this restriction maximum length of project is nine months but they can be anything up to that. Projects should be designed with this reporting requirement in mind in terms of being able to report.
Use headings for the case for support and abide by the size limits
- does it meet the aims of the call? - is there potential for significant and/or innovative outputs? - What quality of the research being proposed? - Does the research team have the required experience and expertise? - Is there appropriate project management? - Does the value of the proposed Outcomes offer value for money?
