Layout means arrangement of facilities in a particular production unit.
Layout refers to internal arrangement of machines, equipments, work centers and
other Physical facilities in an orderly manner.
Plant layout also includes the arrangement of process and physical facilities within
the factory premises.
12. MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The industrial complex of Bajaj auto is spread over an area of 906 acres in
Walunj .
The manufacturing process of two wheelers and it’s parts is basically of metal
cuttings and metal forming the basic raw materials are steel and aluminum .
Surface treatment processes like heat treatment painting and electroplating
are carried out in the factory .

14. Cutting is a collection of processes wherein material is brought to
a specified geometry by removing excess material using various
kinds of tooling to leave a finished part that meets specifications

15. Metals can be heat treated to alter the properties of strength, ductility,
toughness, hardness or resistance to corrosion. Common heat treatment
processes include quenching, and tempering.. Quenching can be used
to harden alloy steels. Tempering will cause the dissolved alloying
elements to precipitate.
HEAT TREATMENT
16. Twin-Gun Painting – Developed by Japan and improved by Bajaj's two-
wheeler, this Twin-Gun technology is the first of its kind for two-wheeler in
the world. Coupled with Rotating Painting Process,
Rotating Painting Process – Complements the automated Twin-Gun robotic
arm to achieve uniform paint finishing with minimal paint wastage.

involves bonding a thin layer of another metal.It is used to reduce
corrosion as well as to improve the product's aesthetic
appearance.

Material handling includes moving. Packing and storing all the materials used by the
production unit.
Material is received by various ways of transport, it moves into plant and thereafter to
store room. When material is needed it is moved along to path of assembly.

(PPC)
PPC includes planning that is to be done in office and control on the planned activities
that are to be done on production centers, that are called as shop floors.
Production planning is concerned with the determination, acquisition and
arrangement of all facilities necessary for future production activity.
22. INSPECTION
Inspection is an integral aspect of quality control. It helps in maintaining and raising
the quality of products.
Inspection judges he production against the established standards.
It is recommended that inspection is to be done at every level of production.
23. WAREHOUSING
Warehousing includes storage which is an unavoidable activity.
It increases the value of material by simply carrying.
It also plays a very important role in supplying the product according to the market
demand . It creates time utility.
