Transfer Posting Unrestricted to Blocked 06/18/07 MIGO_TR
Purpose
Use this procedure to move stock from an Unrestricted status to a Blocked status.
Trigger
Perform this procedure when it is necessary to move inventory into a Blocked stock status. Blocked
stock refers to stock that is not suitable for issue due to damage, material recall, or merchandise
that has exceeded its shelf life.
Prerequisites
• Basic knowledge of SAP navigation.
Menu Path
Use the following menu path(s) to begin this transaction:
• Select Logistics Materials Management Inventory Management Goods Movement
Double Click MIGO_TR - Transfer Posting (MIGO) to go to the Enter Transfer Posting
Other screen.
Transaction Code
MIGO_TR
Helpful Hints
• When you double click the MIGO_TR - Transfer Posting (MIGO) depending on the last
process completed in that screen the title may not read Transfer Posting Other. If this is the
case, change the Transaction type in the Transaction box to Transfer Posting and if
necessary change the Document type to Other. In this example the Transaction box shows
“Subsequent Delivery” and the Document type is “Material Document.”

This process is restricted to the MRP Controller. To remove an item from Blocked Stock status the
process remains the same, only the Transfer Type is changed to 343
The Material Movement Types for a Transfer Posting are:
• 301 Goods Transfer Plant to Plant 1 step
• 302 Reversal
• 303 Goods Transfer Plant to Plant 2 step first step
• 304 Reversal
• 305 Goods Transfer Plant to Plant 2 step second step
• 306 Reversal
• 311 Goods Transfer Storage Location to Storage Location 1 step
• 312 Reversal
• 313 Goods Transfer Storage Location to Storage Location 2 step first step
• 314 Reversal
• 315 Goods Transfer Storage Location to Storage Location 2 step second step
• 316 Reversal
• 343 Goods Transfer from Blocked stock to Unrestricted stock
• 344 Goods Transfer from Unrestricted stock to Blocked stock
The different Movement Types instruct the program how to process the transfer of the stock
inventory and value levels in the program. The Movement Types restrict the transfers to between
Plant to Plant, Storage Location to Storage Location, and Stock Types (unrestricted, inspection,
and restricted) and controls if it is a one-step or a two-step transfer.
