things we come into contact with on a daily basis can emit radiation more than weknow. A
radiation-emitting item that i come into contact daily is my laptop. I use my laptopeveryday
for school and work so i am constantly coming into contact with it. Computersemit non-
ionizing radiation. They emit a low-frequency and radio-frequency EMR. Theselow-
frequencies and radio-frequencies can come from the computer screen, powersupply, disc
drive, and even the WIFI connected to the computer. In some ways thisradiation can be
harmful to one’s health. “In fact, this radiation has been linked with manyserious diseases:
Asthma, Alzheimer’s, Cancer, Depression, Heart Disease, Hormoneimbalances, Damage to
nerves, immune system and reproductive systems.” (EM Watch,2018) It has been proven
that this type of radiation can be linked to have diseases. As thismany not be the leading
cause to these diseases it can still be a factor and also the use mayneed to be reduced. Some
ways we can reduce the hazard of the exposure to radio-frequency radiation is bynot sitting
extremely close to the computers and laptops. We can also eliminate the timeof usage of the
computers to a certain time limit. It is also very important to not be usingthem before going
to sleep at night. Computers also emit blue light which can causestaring to your eyes and
cause difficulty sleeping at night. Not using computers andlaptops at least an hour before
should be able to help lower these risk factors.
