2. Background The Krays is a 1990 film based on the lives and crimes of the British gangsters Ronald and Reginald Kray, twins who are often referred to as The Krays. The film was written by Philip Ridley and directed by Peter Medak.
3. Mise-en-scene The opening scene of the TheKrays is located in an old fashioned style house and then cuts to the sky with a bird flying in it. The costumes used are old fashioned clothes and the mid wife is dressed in clean white and black clothing. The natural make-up also shows this, because they wouldn’t have had any then. The props used are old fashioned furniture from maybe the late 60’s, earky 70’s and the bird is a main freature of the clip.
4. Camera There is a close-up on the bird flying, drawing your attention to it Track in and out on the women screaming Crab left to right and back on the mid wife putting water in a bowl High angle on women when she is screaming, making her look vulnerable and hurt.
5. Editing cut from bird flying to the women giving birth Jump cut on them all looking after her
6. Sound Non diegetic music, except for the women’s scream Music is gloomy and gets jumpy through the credits and then turns peaceful as you see the bird. Women speaks in the background as she talks about the birth of a bird pregnacy in 1st person
